Gano is a veteran kicker and he is one of the best kickers in the league, and the Giants wanted to make sure they don’t lose him.</p><p>Gano has been in the NFL since 2009 and established himself as a top kicker later in his career with the Carolina Panthers. He has been with Giants 2020 and is 89/97 on field goals since coming to New York. He has a career field goal percentage of 84.6% and a career extra point percentage of 95%. Kicking and special teams can often be overlooked, but it is a crucial part of the game, and having a kicker like Gano is extremely important.</p><p>At 36 years old, Gano’s career is beginning to wind down, but as a kicker, his body doesn’t get nearly as many hits as players at other positions. With a projected lucrative rookie deal on the way, Thibodeaux could afford to tell Gano to name his price.
