Well, you've come to the right place.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Dallas Cowboys</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>If winning the Super Bowl is the measure of an NFL team’s success, then the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/cowboys-news-jason-garrett-doesnt-see-dallas-super-bowl-prediction-close">Dallas Cowboys are downright failures</a> for the past 30 years, as they haven’t won a Lombardi Trophy since VHS was the format the game tape was printed on.</p><p>Sure, they’ve won plenty of playoff games, sold millions of tickets, and have remained incredibly popular, which should all play into whether or not a team is successful, but when it comes to the Super Bowl, they’ve come to the plate over and over again and walked back to the dugout disappointed every single time.</p><p>And yet, in the opinion of <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/cowboys-emmitt-smith-eagles-saquon-barkley-real-mvp">all-time franchise legend Emmitt Smith</a>, the Cowboys’ lack of success really “bugs his heart” because he truly believes the franchise is good. While he admits that no team stays at the top forever, the fact that the Cowboys haven’t returned to the top of the NFL standings in 30 years is a “<a href="https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/cowboys/2025/04/08/why-emmitt-smith-is-sick-of-hearing-about-dallas-cowboys-ongoing-title-drought/">crying shame.</a>”</p><p>“That part bugs me. It bugs me because, in my heart, I truly believe our organization should be contending for an NFC championship game and even a Super Bowl at least once or twice every decade because every team recycles every decade,” Smith said via The Dallas Morning News. “For us not to be there over the last 30 years is a crying shame.”</p><p>Still, Smith believes the Cowboys are a team young players should want to join, as he believes they have a special legacy that will only grow in the future.</p><p>“I look at us and I say, when you draft somebody, they already got to know what’s expected. They already have to know that there comes a long line of historians and history that comes along with it that you have to embrace,” Smith said. “You just cannot ignore it. And you have to figure out, what can I do to leave my mark on the game? And the game is bigger than me. Dallas only won seven games during the regular season and missed the playoffs. The Cowboys certainly suffered from injuries to key players like Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons. It did not help that Dallas was not very aggressive to add talent during the offseason.</p><p>The Cowboys seem to have learned from that failure. They are making a concerted effort to get better this offseason, making a number of interesting moves. First, they <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/cowboys-news-dallas-hires-brian-schottenheimer-head-coach">replaced Mike McCarthy with Brian Schottenheimer at head coach</a>.</p><p>Dallas also made several moves during free agency to improve the roster. The Cowboys brought in several defensive players, including Kaiir Elam, Jack Sanborn, Kenneth Murray Jr., Payton Turner, and Dante Fowler Jr. These players seem to align with the defensive philosophy of <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/cowboys-news-matt-eberflus-100-real-about-what-he-expects-defense">new DC Matt Eberflus</a>.</p><p>Dallas is expected to make most of its improvement during the draft.</p><p>The Cowboys will have 10 selections in the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/nfl-stories/2025-nfl-draft-order-prospects-targets">2025 NFL Draft, including the 12th overall pick</a>.</p><p>But who could the go after?</p><p>Below we will explore who the Cowboys could select in this seven-round 2025 NFL mock draft from the PFN simulator.</p><h2><b>WR Matthew Golden – Texas – 12th overall</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Matthew-Golden_1f5efe.jpg"><figcaption>Dale Zanine-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>This is far from the first time the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/cowboys-news-dallas-urged-keep-speedy-receiver-texas-latest-mock-draft">Cowboys have been linked with Texas WR Matthew Golden</a>.</p><p>Golden is a talented wide receiver who thrived during his one collegiate season at Texas. He was also a capable receiver at Houston for the first few seasons of his collegiate career.</p><p>Golden is a big play waiting to happen. He has that intangible “it” factor that helps him perform in the most important moments.</p><p>He is also a dangerous kick returner, which adds addition value for NFL teams.</p><p>If the Cowboys selected Golden, he would instantly become the WR2 in Dallas behind CeeDee Lamb. Adding Golden to an offense with an already established WR1 could do wonders for him during his rookie season.</p><p>It’s hard to argue with this pick, excellent work by the Cowboys here.</p><h2><b>EDGE Princely Umanmielen – Ole Miss – 44th overall </b></h2><p>The Cowboys make another smart addition with Umanmielen in the second round.</p><p>The edge rusher out of Ole Miss brings loads of pass rush production to the table. He is a finesse player who boasts excellent burst and bend, allowing him to sneak past offensive linemen with ease.</p><p>Umanmielen logged 10.5 sacks in 2024 in 12 games, though he only had six starts.</p><p>He does have trouble setting edges and holding up in run defense. As such, he would likely be a designated pass rusher during his rookie season.</p><p>I love this pick for the Cowboys, especially because Umanmielen has unique strengths that other players like Marshawn Kneeland seem to lack.</p><p>If this pick actually happened, I believe the plan would be to have Kneeland eventually be the early-down player and Umanmielen the third-down player opposite of Micah Parsons.</p><h2><b>RB TreVeyon Henderson – Ohio State – 71st overall </b></h2><p>Dallas makes a trade to move up the board for a talented running back.</p><p>In this scenario, the Cowboys send the 149th overall pick to Baltimore to move up five spots in the third round. They then use that pick to select Ohio State’s TreVeyon Henderson.</p><p>It is easy to understand why the Cowboys would fall in love with Henderson. He is a well rounded back who can play on all three downs.</p><p>NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein even compared Henderson to Jahmyr Gibbs, at least in terms of <a href="https://www.nfl.com/prospects/treveyon-henderson/32004845-4e14-4466-e552-da8f305c6946" rel="noopener">what role he have</a> see early in his NFL career.</p><p>Henderson’s ceiling is likely lower than Gibbs’, but that is still a very encouraging sign for his production as a pro.</p><p>Henderson would immediately become the lead back in Dallas, overtaking Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams.</p><h2><b>EDGE Jack Sawyer – Ohio State – 174th overall</b></h2><p>Sawyer is an edge rusher who wins primarily with power.</p><p>If this pick happened in real life, it would likely be because the Cowboys are shocked to see Sawyer still on the board in the later rounds.</p><p>There is no immediate path to starting for Sawyer, especially after the Umanmielen pick.</p><p>Sawyer’s best path to the field as a rookie could be as an interior edge rusher on obvious passing downs where the Cowboys may deploy a “NASCAR package” on defense.</p><h2><b>G Marcus Tate – Clemson – 204th overall</b></h2><p>Tate has good size and strength, but he has suffered multiple injuries over the past three seasons.</p><p>As a result, it is difficult to project how Tate will translate to the NFL. If durability is a concern, then Tate could potentially have a very short NFL career.</p><p>In Dallas, Tate can sit behind Tyler Smith and Robert Jones and learn the NFL game.</p><p>The best-case scenario for Tate is that he becomes a consistent backup who could have some upside if he remains healthy.</p><h2><b>RB Trevor Etienne – Georgia – 211st overall</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Trevor-Etienne.jpg"><figcaption>Dale Zanine-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>In many ways, Trevor Etienne is a similar back to his brother Travis.</p><p>Etienne missed three games in 2024 because of a rib injury. He was also <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/ncaa-football/georgia-football-news-trevor-etienne-hit-with-4-charges-as-part-of-dui-arrest">suspended for the season opener because of a DUI arrest</a>.</p><p>It should be no surprise that Etienne’s draft stock has tanked as a result.</p><p>The Cowboys scoop him up in the later rounds in this simulation. He would simply serve as depth for the Cowboys, especially after the addition of Henderson.</p><p>Etienne would likely start the season on the practice squad, or perhaps as RB4 behind Henderson, Williams, and Sanders.</p><h2><b>EDGE Barryn Sorrell – Texas – 217th overall</b></h2><p>Dallas adds yet another edge rusher in Sorrell.</p><p>Fans would likely love this pick, as he played his college football at Texas.</p><p>Sorrell is a powerful edge rusher who lacks the length most NFL teams prefer from the position. He boasts good technique and is a consistent player as a result.</p><p>Sorrell would be a rotational player at best in Dallas. He does have enough upside to justify a late-round pick.</p><h2><b>CB Isas Waxter – Villanova – 239th overall</b></h2><p>Waxter is a long, physical cornerback who brings plenty of passion to the football field.</p><p>He could join the Cowboys as a developmental cornerback, or perhaps switch positions and play strong safety.</p><p>Either way, Waxter is a long shot to make the final roster in Dallas.</p><h2><b>WR Kyren Lacy – LSU – 247th overall</b></h2><p>This pick is a decent dart throw at a receiver.</p><p>Lacy is facing some legal troubles after <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/ncaa-football/lsu-football-news-kyren-lacy-turns-himself-in-police-after-role-car-crash">he played a role in a fatal car crash</a> in December of 2024.</p><p>Understandably, many teams have removed him from their draft boards.</p><p>Ultimately this is simply a seventh-round lottery ticket that could turn into something for Dallas.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Dallas has 10 picks in the draft, including the 12th overall pick. One NFL draft expert had a hard time deciding between two positions for the Cowboys in his latest mock.</p><p>ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. had a tough time <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2025/insider/story/_/id/44534765/2025-nfl-mock-draft-mel-kiper-two-rounds-64-picks-predictions-sanders-ward-hunter" rel="noopener">choosing between running back and wide receiver</a> for the Cowboys in his latest mock draft.</p><p>Kiper ultimately landed on <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/nfl-stories/nfl-rumors-omarion-hampton-could-join-ashton-jeanty-first-round-after-combine">UNC RB Omarion Hampton</a> as the Cowboys’ pick at 12th overall.</p><p>“I see the Cowboys trying to improve the run game, which managed 4.0 yards per carry and a league-low six TDs last season. They have thus far replaced Rico Dowdle with Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders. Neither new back has the home run ability of Hampton, who can scoot through holes and take off despite his 221-pound build. I’ve never been an advocate of the first-round running back, but team owner Jerry Jones isn’t afraid to address the position on Day 1.”</p><p>Hampton is a powerful runner who looks exactly like what the Cowboys have historically coveted at the position. He would instantly become the lead back ahead of Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders.</p><p>Kiper explained why he was so torn choosing between the two positions.</p><p>“I was torn here, as I think Dallas will look at all offensive playmakers,” Kiper added. “It needs a difference-making WR2 to take some of the load off CeeDee Lamb. But I’m not sure Texas’ Matthew Golden or Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan will go quite this early.”</p><p>Matthew <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/cowboys-news-dallas-urged-keep-speedy-receiver-texas-latest-mock-draft">Golden is one player who is routinely mocked to the Cowboys</a>.</p><p>The Cowboys could also be tempted to select a talented receiver like Tetairoa McMillan. However, one mock draft indicates the franchise could make a trade up for a top wide receiver.</p><p>In the latest mock draft by Ian Valentino of The 33rd Team, the Cowboys are pegged to <a href="https://www.the33rdteam.com/nfl-mock-draft-2025-browns-cowboys-49ers-make-bold-trades/" rel="noopener">trade up from No. 12 to No. 8</a> with the Carolina Panthers. In Valentino’s mock draft, he has the Las Vegas Raiders trading back with the San Francisco 49ers. So, Dallas moving up to No. 8 would give them the chance to select Arizona Wildcats wideout Tetairoa McMillan before the Raiders can get their hands on him in this scenario.</p><p>“Dallas is the next team to trade up, as it wants to beat the Raiders for a playmaker. Tetairoa McMillan is the ideal fit with CeeDee Lamb, boasting elite size and creation after the catch. Dak Prescott would love to have two unique receivers who would make his job easier. This also allows Dallas to take a running back in Round 2 instead of reaching on a non-premium position at No. 12.”</p><p>McMillan is viewed as the top wide receiver prospect in the 2025 class outside of Colorado’s Travis Hunter, assuming he doesn’t play cornerback full-time. Adding Tetairoa to the Cowboys’ offense would certainly give the team a nice jolt, especially in the passing game. Prescott would suddenly have two premiere wideouts to throw too, as McMillan has a strong chance of becoming a solid wide receiver in the league.</p><p>It’s a big trade scenario that requires a lot of moving parts. Additionally, if the Raiders want McMillan that badly, they could simply just draft him with the No. 6 pick overall and avoid a trade back with the 49ers altogether. Additionally, the Panthers are a team that could use a star wideout themselves to give quarterback Bryce Young more options in the passing game.</p><p>Regardless, this would be a <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/cowboys-rumors-insider-picks-texas-star-notre-dame-qb-mock-draft">dream scenario for the Cowboys</a>. Jerry Jones and the front office would be able to improve the wide receiver room immediately and still have a premiere second-round pick they can use on essentially any player they want.</p><p>The NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 24. Sando shared a quote from one NFL executive who suggested that the Cowboys may view Parsons as too expensive to extend.</p><p>“If you wait out Jerry (Jones), he will pay,” an exec said via Sando. “But there are people who think Parsons is ‘out there’ a little bit and might not be worth paying at the highest level, so it will be interesting to see where Dallas falls on that.”</p><p>The Cowboys have not historically cared about paying more money for a star player at a premium position. The Cowboys are doing everything they can to improve ahead of the 2025 NFL season. That could include drafting a new starting running back.</p><p>Former Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant added fuel to the Omarion Hampton hype train on Saturday.</p><p>Bryant <a href="https://x.com/DezBryant/status/1908570929195524329" rel="noopener">responded to a tweet</a> from Jordan Schultz with the eyeballs emoji.</p><p>“North Carolina RB Omarion Hampton continues to skyrocket up draft boards,” Schultz posted on social media. “One executive I spoke with compared him and Ashton Jeanty to the Bijan Robinson-Jahmyr Gibbs class, saying both will go ‘very early.'”</p><p>Schultz also <a href="https://x.com/Schultz_Report/status/1908570194361876589" rel="noopener">noted in his post that the young running back visited</a> with the Cowboys on Friday.</p><p>“Hampton — who’s being lauded for his combination of vision, balance and toughness — visited the #Cowboys on Friday,” Schultz continued. “He also has several other visits lined up, following a series of private workouts already completed.”</p><p>The Cowboys certainly have a need at the running back position. Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders are the top running backs on the roster.</p><p>It is almost a lock that Dallas will invest in a mid-round running back because the 2025 draft class is incredibly deep at the position.</p><p>Hampton could be Dallas’ guy if they want to spend a premium pick on the position.</p><h2><b>Is Omarion Hampton the Jahmyr Gibbs of the 2025 NFL Draft?</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Omarion-Hampton_c2b23f.jpg"><figcaption>Mandatory Credit: Bob Donnan-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>Hampton is an incredibly talented running back out of UNC. It is not surprising to hear that Schultz talked with sources who compared Hampton’s situation with Jahmyr Gibbs a few years ago.</p><p>The narrative around Bijan Robinson being a generational running back completely overshadowed Gibbs as a prospect. They are now viewed as similar talents now that both have been in the NFL for the past few years.</p><p>Ashton Jeanty is the Bijan Robinson of the 2025 draft class. Therefore, it stands to reason that many NFL fans and scouts are <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/nfl-stories/nfl-rumors-omarion-hampton-could-join-ashton-jeanty-first-round-after-combine">questioning just how good Hampton could be</a>.</p><p>Hampton is an old-school running back who uses his size and strength to bully defenders. He is a downhill runner who does not have the same one-cut ability or agility as other top NFL running backs.</p><p>That said, Hampton is still an incredibly effective back. Following a brutal 2024 season, they are hoping to land some quality pieces in the NFL Draft.</p><p>Luckily for them, ESPN presented an idea about <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2025/insider/story/_/id/44507247/2025-nfl-draft-latest-buzz-rumors-news-hunter-trades-mocks-sleepers" rel="noopener">drafting two players</a> from respective College Football Playoff teams.</p><p>“The Cowboys’ draft plan should revolve around building up the offense and adding more playmakers for quarterback Dak Prescott,” the article said. “They would do just that in this mock, with the explosive Golden at wide receiver and a speedy back in Sampson.</p><p>“Defense isn’t ignored, though, as Williams is the ideal 1-technique next to Osa Odighizuwa. We further build depth on the defensive line and in the secondary while getting a developmental backup quarterback option in Leonard.”</p><p>Drafting Matthew Golden would give quarterback Dak Prescott a major advantage. While CeeDee Lamb is still elite, he doesn’t have another receiver to rely on. Throughout Texas’s season, Golden was truly golden.</p><p>He had 58 receptions for 987 yards and an <a href="https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/matthew-golden-1.html" rel="noopener">SEC-leading nine touchdowns</a>. He averaged 17 yards per reception, something that could encourage the Cowboys.</p><p>Touching on Riley Leonard, his dual-threat style helped the Fighting Irish reach the national championship game. However, he has some work to do as a passer. As a rusher, he is fantastic, but rounding out his complete game would be beneficial.</p><h2><b>Cowboys could draft Texas, Notre Dame stars</b></h2><p>The Cowboys have the 12th overall pick in the NFL Draft. As a result, there are a barrage of options to go with. However, going with a win-now option seems to be in their best interest.</p><p>Someone like Golden is what they need. The 6’0 and near 200-pound receiver is a big body who can get serious yards after contact. Combining that with Lamb could be the essential one-two punch the offense needs.</p><p>Furthermore, drafting someone like Leonard could be a good insurance policy. After all, Prescott has endured some injuries over the past few seasons.</p><p>While he might be in his prime, having Leonard could be the passing of the torch moment when it comes. Plus, the former Fighting Irish quarterback is a winner. He helped <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/ncaa-football/notre-dame-fighting-irish-most-blame-national-championship-game-loss-ohio-state">Notre Dame reach the national championship game</a>.</p><p>At the end of the day, Dallas has some major decisions to make about its future. The teams’ many fans have largely been disappointed for years, and the 2024 season was no exception.</p><p>The Cowboys won the NFC East crown in 2023 and while they got smoked in the Wild Card round of the playoffs by the upstart Green Bay Packers, there was no reason to think that defeat would carry over to 2024. Yet, that’s just what happened.</p><p>Injuries may have played a role in a brutal 7-10 season, but Jerry Jones saw his team fall short in nearly every crucial moment. The Eagles ruled the NFC East with the Washington Commanders pushing them hard in second place. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/cowboys-news-fans-love-latest-dak-prescott-injury-update">The Cowboys</a> were basically out of playoff contention with more than a month left in the season.</p><p>The leadership of Mike McCarthy was questionable throughout his tenure with the Cowboys and Jones made the announcement that he would not be coming back for the 2025 season. That job has gone to Brian Schottenheimer and the move was not widely applauded.</p><p>Schottenheimer, the son of the late legendary Marty Schottenheimer, had been the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator. He had done little to distinguish himself as the Cowboys <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/stats/team">finished 16th</a> in yards per game and were a non-descript 21st in points per game.</p><p>The Cowboys defense was also an issue, as that unit <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/stats/team/_/view/defense">ranked 28th</a> in yards allowed at 355.2 per game.</p><p>The Cowboys have been busy in the offseason in an attempt to give Schottenheimer an improved team in 2025, perhaps one that can make a run at the Eagles for division title.</p><h2><b>Cowboys make key changes on defense, including the return of Dante Fowler</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Dante-Fowler-could-be-a-big-addition-for-the-Cowboys.jpg"><figcaption>Mandatory Credit: Kim Klement Neitzel-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>A pair of trades should help the defense upgrade its performance. The Cowboys acquired CB Kaiir Elam from the Buffalo Bills and LB Kenneth Murray from the Tennessee Titans.</p><p>They have also been busy in free agency attempting to add hungry players. These are not necessarily superstars, but players who will leave it all on the field on an every game basis. They include DT Solomon Thomas, LB Jack Sanborn and Edge rusher Payton Turner.</p><p>However, the sneakiest signing may be bringing in edge rusher Dante Fowler back into the fold after a year with the Washington Commanders.</p><p>The return of Fowler represents a very rare move in professional sports. Players who are traded or leave one team through free agency usually do not return to the team they left. It is often discussed on sports-talk radio that if a player leaves, he could come back in a year as a more accomplished player and become a star.</p><p>That is basically a fantasy, but in the case of Fowler it is reality. He has a real chance to become a star in Dallas.</p><p>He signed a one-year contract with the Commanders prior to the 2024 season and he had an excellent year in Washington. Fowler was a big-time producer for head coach Dan Quinn with 39 tackles, 10.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss and 12 quarterback hits.</p><p>The edge rusher also had 2 forced fumbles and an interception that he returned 67 yards for a touchdown.</p><p>Fowler returns to the Cowboys after signing a one-year, $6 million deal. That could turn out to be a bargain for the Cowboys if he can come close to the production he had last year with the Commanders.</p><h2><b>Fowler knows that a big season is a must if he wants to continue to earn millions in the NFL</b></h2><p>The 31-year-old has played for five teams in his career and has moved around quite a bit for a player who was the No. 3 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.</p><p>Fowler has played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, Atlanta Falcons, Cowboys and Commanders. His best season came with the Rams in 2019 as he had 58 tackles, 11.5 sacks, 16 tackles for loss, 16 QB hits, 6 passes defense, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery.</p><p>Fowler’s lack of consistency has been an issue, but the Cowboys clearly believe that he has turned the corner in that area after last year’s performance. He could be prepared to put huge numbers on the board that could result in a second consecutive season with double-digit sacks.</p><p>If he is able to do that from his left defensive end position — opposite Micah Parsons on the right side — the Cowboys defense could be considerably stronger than it was a year ago.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

But now he can show his draft smarts.</p><p>Dallas must swing big at No. 12 to win back restless Cowboys fans. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/cowboys-news-dan-orlovsky-believes-draft-pick-sneakily-improve-dallas">Tetairoa McMillan of Arizona is a trending Dallas fit</a>. The Cowboys are even urged to grab <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/3-reasons-cowboys-must-draft-ashton-jeanty">Boise State star Ashton Jeanty</a>. The latter is a Texas native from Frisco.</p><p>There’s first round talent the Cowboys must avoid, however. We’re presenting three names Dallas is better off passing on. It’s based off recent offseason work, film study and likely having a hard time fitting into the roster. Here are the three first round talents to avoid if you’re the Cowboys.</p><h2><b>Will Campbell, OT, LSU </b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Will-Campbell-of-LSU.jpg"><figcaption>Ken Ruinard / staff / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>Dallas already drafted someone who plays Campbell’s position. Tyler Guyton is the tackle of the future.</p><p>Campbell sounds enticing for Dallas. Particularly with keeping Prescott upright. But he struggles against stunts. That flaw lowers his chances to deliver consistency against the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders. Both are known for stout trench play and hitting offensive lines with linemen twists.</p><p>Replacing the retired Zack Martin is the more pressing need along the line. Dallas can hold off until later rounds to address the OL. Besides, Campbell is still garnering top 10 projections. Bruce Feldman of The Athletic <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6246631/2025/04/02/nfl-mock-draft-2025-bruce-feldman/" rel="noopener">now has the towering tackle going ninth overall</a> to the New Orleans Saints, who now have ex-Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore as head coach.</p><h2><b>Will Johnson, CB, Michigan </b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Will-Johnson-running-with-ball.jpg"><figcaption>Rick Osentoski-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>Cornerback is a need here in Dallas. Even with Pro Bowlers Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland.</p><p>Johnson will entice teams with his ball skills. He returned three interceptions back for touchdowns. But his speed rises as a concern.</p><p>The towering 6-foot-2 defender reportedly ran a 4.48. He must run against a gauntlet of speed in the NFC East to survive. Names like DeVonta Smith, Terry McLaurin, newcomer Deebo Samuel, and Malik Nabers are capable of feasting on him. Johnson is even fooled by double moves — which leads to burnt coverage. Johnson would need to rely on his ball greed plus Diggs/Bland to bail him out in order to survive in Dallas.</p><h2><b>Shemar Stewart, edge, Texas A&amp;M </b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Shemar-Stewart-breaks-past-an-offensive-lineman.jpg"><figcaption>© Maria Lysaker-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>Stewart rose on draft boards after going crazy with his NFL Combine workout. He looks like a defensive end need here.</p><p>Except Stewart comes with some field red flags. He looked like he trusted his speed and athleticism way more than technique. Opposing blockers still had their way with him. Stewart even looked defeated the moment an offensive lineman latched his hands onto his chest. The Aggies star comes with limited hand moves.</p><p>Dallas needs pass rush production from the ends moving forward. Chauncey Golston and Carl Lawson only piled five sacks apiece. Stewart looks more like a decoy to free up Parsons and everyone else. If Dallas seeks a stronger pass rusher, Stewart isn’t it.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
