The consensus is quarterback Cam Ward. But <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/tennessee-titans/titans-news-jeffery-simmons-pitch-draft-abdul-carter-no-1-pick">would they pull off a surprise</a>? It’s time for the Tennessee Titans 2025 NFL mock draft, using the ESPN NFL Draft simulator.</p><p>First and foremost, the Titans need a quarterback. That’s why Ward has drawn the target. But they also need big help at edge rusher, wide receiver, and linebacker. The team has seven picks overall, but don’t have one in the third round. They need to make great picks and No. 1 and No. 35 if they want to change the narrative from last year’s ugly 3-14 finish.</p><p>We’ll pick for the Titans and let ESPN’s <a href="https://espnanalytics.com/draft-sim/" rel="noopener">tool do the rest</a>. To maintain the integrity of what the real draft should look like, we’ll take Cam Ward at No. 1 — even though Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter might be the wiser selection. Why not get a guaranteed “dude” and trade up from No. 35 to try to get Shedeur Sanders, Jaxson Dart, or Tyler Shough?</p><h2><b>Round 1: QB Cam Ward, Univ. of Miami</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/University-of-Miami-QB-Cam-Ward_d46eb9.jpg"><figcaption>Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>At 6-foot-2 and 219 pounds, Ward has the physical makeup for the NFL. He’s locked and ready for a certain style of offense the Titans <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/the-beast/2025/player/cam_ward-quarterback-oHdiwL239lLeDOQ8/" rel="noopener">will likely employ</a>, according to nytimes.com.</p><p>“With his quick load and fire, Ward is a perfect fit for the RPO game and quick drops,” Dane Brugler wrote. “He is elusive in the pocket and has an innate feel for casually operating around pressure to buy extra time. Although he needs to find a happier medium between his nonchalant style and playing with the urgency required.</p><p>“He reads well in structure and throws with anticipation, but each game tape includes examples of questionable, forced decisions with negative results. Overall, Ward must button up his drifting footwork and cut down on the reckless habits, but he is a loose, instinctive passer who can rip accurate strikes with a natural rhythm to his play.”</p><p>He has been projected as an <a href="https://www.nfl.com/prospects/cam-ward/32005741-5206-5305-364b-76c1f988f45e" rel="noopener">eventual plus starter</a> by nfl.com.</p><p>“Gunslinger with good size, a big arm, and the mobility to help out his offensive line,” Lance Zierlein wrote. “Ward can read the full field and operates with average decision-making and processing quickness. Like a shortstop, he rips sidearm rockets that fit into tight windows on all three levels, but his delivery and mechanics cause inconsistencies with placement and accuracy.”</p><p>Lots of good stuff and a few bad things. But picking Ward will make Titans fans happy. The question is whether they will still be smiling a few years down the road as Hunter and Carter likely rack up Pro Bowl honors.</p><h2><b>Round 2: WR Jayden Higgins, Iowa St.</b></h2><p>It’s interesting to note in this mock that Jaxson Dart remained on the board for pick No. 35. The Titans could have grabbed Hunter and paired him with Dart. Oh, well.</p><p>It makes sense for the Titans to continue their offensive mindset. Too many edge rushers got swept up before their pick. Five of them went over seven picks from No. 27 to 33.</p><p>That made Higgins the best choice for this spot. At 6-foot-4 and 214 pounds, he possesses the size to make an NFL difference. Athleticism <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/the-beast/2025/player/jayden_higgins-wide_receiver-THkpc7pfDaXTZn6w/" rel="noopener">sets him apart</a>, according to nytimes.com.</p><p>“With the body control and grace of a former point guard, Higgins has the smooth athleticism that translates to his route running, and he is more than just a possession target,” Brugler wrote. “Even if his tape doesn’t show a dangerous playmaker after the catch. He is a big, strong target who is natural at tracking and adjusting to the football, regardless of the placement or coverage (just three drops on 210 targets at Iowa State).</p><p>“Overall, Higgins is an ascending height-weight-speed athlete with the physicality and catch radius to be a productive NFL starter as he continues developing his route/release precision.”</p><p>He also drew a Nico Collins comparison. Ward will enjoy having this target in his arsenal.</p><h2><b>Round 4: LB Demetrius Knight, South Carolina (103) and Edge Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins (120)</b></h2><p>The Titans shore up their defense with the best available player at these positions.</p><p>Knight has the look of a player who could <a href="https://www.nfl.com/prospects/demetrius-knight-jr/32004b4e-4976-7772-482c-aa2ff921c6dd" rel="noopener">exceed draft projections</a>, according to one NFC national scout via nfl.com.</p><p>“I didn’t find much that I didn’t like about him,” the scout said. “He might get dinged for being a six-year player, but that Alabama game shows you everything you need to see.”</p><p>As for Ingram-Dawkins, he gets high marks as well. But he may need <a href="https://www.nfl.com/prospects/tyrion-ingram-dawkins/3200494e-4768-2089-a65d-5f51e00746c2" rel="noopener">a little polish</a>, according to nfl.com.</p><p>“He’s ready to do it, with the tools to do it, but is still learning how to do it,” Zierleinn wrote. “Ingram-Dawkins’ relative lack of experience shows up with inconsistent instincts in the run game and a lack of development as a rusher.”</p><h2><b>Round 5: RB Jordan James, Oregon (141) and Edge Barryn Sorrell, Texas</b></h2><p>James has a chance to be an NFL starter. He’s 5-10, 205 pounds, and brings a physical presence to the backfield. He can be a tackle-breaker, but also owns the ability to suddenly cut and change directions.</p><p>As for Sorrell, he’s a small reach pick. But it’s needed because the Titans didn’t get an edge rusher early. He provides insurance if Ingram-Dawkins doesn’t pan out. He’s consistent, and his technique is top-notch.</p><h2><b>Round 6: C/G Jackson Slater, Sacramento St. (178) and LB Cody Simon, Ohio State</b></h2><p>The pick of Slater comes from the “he’s too good to still be on board this late” category. It never hurts to upgrade the offensive line. And he’s a reasonable depth piece.</p><p>Simon provides insurance for the Knight pick. It’s hard to find potential starters in Round 6, but Simon could easily exceed his draft slot. He has a strong frame, good toughness, and adequate talent, according to Zierlein.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Titans fans received some big hints from one NFL draft prospect who believes he will be the first overall pick on April 24th.</p><p>Miami QB <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/tennessee-titans/titans-rumors-insider-historic-trade-offer-needed-pass-cam-ward">Cam Ward is the presumed first overall pick to the Titans</a>.</p><p>Ward joked with his fans about the inevitability that he will be drafted by Tennessee. He <a href="https://x.com/themettenburger/status/1912312559593472200" rel="noopener">dropped a few obvious hints</a> while streaming Fortnite on Tuesday night.</p><p>“My top four running backs in the league right? I would say Tony Pollard, Spears…” Ward said, responding to a question from the chat.</p><p>Ward followed that up with a <a href="https://x.com/MySportsUpdate/status/1912345180805415206" rel="noopener">question about his top four wide receivers</a> in the NFL.</p><p>“Okay so I already said… [Calvin] Ridley, Ja’Marr [Chase], Justin [Jefferson],” Ward said, per Ari Meirov. “And for my last one, Treylon Burks.”</p><p>It is incredibly easy to read between the lines here. Ward is naming Tennessee’s skill position players as the best in the league in an effort to butter them up before joining the team.</p><h2><b>Cam Ward earns Drew Brees comp from former NFL QB ahead of 2025 NFL Draft</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Cam-Ward.jpg"><figcaption>Mandatory Credit: Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>The Titans must be thrilled that they are about to land a QB like Cam Ward.</p><p>Ward received a huge compliment from former NFL QB Chase Daniel earlier in April. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/ncaa-football/miami-football-news-cam-ward-drew-brees">Daniel compared Ward to legendary Saints QB Drew Brees</a>.</p><p>“You’ve gotta have an elite physical talent that I can’t coach,” Daniel said. “And that to me is throwing the football. The different arm angles, the way he navigates the pocket and is able to move just an inch right or just an inch left, it sort of reminds me of a Drew Brees pocket movement.”</p><p>Daniel played backup quarterback behind Brees during his NFL career, so he knows Brees better than almost anyone else.</p><p>One area where Ward may even be better than Brees is as a runner. Although the Titans don’t have a super-talented quarterback room, Simmons has advocated for them to draft Abdul Carter with the No. 1 pick, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/tennessee-titans/titans-news-tennessee-urged-bypass-cam-ward-former-mvp">bypassing Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders</a>. And as one of the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/nfl-stories/2025-nfl-draft-order-prospects-targets">best prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft</a>, the Titans would be getting a stud with Carter — if that’s who they decide to choose with the No. 1 pick.</p><p>Now, although Simmons has pitched for the Titans to draft Carter, he sees both Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders as potential options with the No. 1 pick, too.</p><p>“I mean, I’m a big fan of [Cam Ward]’s game,” Simmons added. “I’ve been seeing a lot of his stuff on social media, been seeing even his Pro Day. The confidence he has as a player, you know, that’s the type of teammate you want to have, of course. His style of play is one of none. I think him and Shedeur both is great quarterbacks. We talk about generational quarterback, and you could put them in that category.”</p><p>Before anything else, Simmons might want to slow down on the “generational quarterback” speak a little. While Shedeur could be a fine NFL quarterback,  <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/nfl-rumors-why-several-execs-dont-view-shedeur-sanders-as-a-first-round-pick">Sanders doesn’t even have a first-round grade</a> from some NFL executives. Now, that’s not to say he can’t be good in the NFL, but it’s an interesting piece of the puzzle to consider when evaluating him and Ward as potential franchise quarterbacks.</p><p>This time of year is most susceptible to false news being intentionally leaked by teams, and without full confirmation on who the Titans are taking, these appear to be the three most likely options:</p><ol><li>Select Cam Ward</li><li>Select Abdul Carter</li><li>Trade down from No. 1</li></ol><p>Could the Titans also select Travis Hunter out of Colorado? Sure, nearly anything is possible. But, selecting Hunter over Carter or Ward might be the third or fourth option for them.</p><p>All-in-all, Jeffery Simmons is leaving no doubt on who he wants the Titans to select with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft: Abdul Carter. Nshimiyimana is suing Sneed and his party for at least $1 million.</p><p>“A Texas man who says Titans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed or his personal assistant shot at him while he was sitting inside a Mercedes-Benz on a dealer lot in December is suing the two-time Super Bowl champ for at least $1 million.</p><p>“Christian Nshimiyimana was sitting inside the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon on Dec. 6 in Carrollton, Texas. Neither he nor anyone else was hit by bullets fired from a Lamborghini Urus driving past One Legacy Motors. Much of what happened is redacted in the police report obtained by The Associated Press.”</p><p>Nshimiyimana’s attorney Levi McCathern stated on Friday that the two-time Super Bowl winner and his assistant were arrested after the alleged incident took place back in December. L’Jarius Sneed and his assistant were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Nshimiyimana’s attorney also accused Sneed and a woman who is possibly his mother, of calling and telling Nshimiyimana to not cooperate with police or claim an attorney.</p><p>“Attorney Levi McCathern said in a statement Friday that Sneed and his accomplice were arrested by the Carrollton Police Department for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after the shooting but have yet to answer for it. One NFL analyst believes the Titans will make an aggressive trade during the draft to give Ward a shiny new weapon.</p><p>ESPN’s Matt Miller penned an article with Jordan Reid on Thursday that aims to <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2025/insider/story/_/id/44592479/2025-nfl-draft-latest-buzz-rumors-news-answering-questions-all-32-teams-picks" rel="noopener">answer draft questions</a> for each NFL team. They had some interesting things to say about the Titans.</p><p>Miller believes the Titans are a team to watch make some big moves on the second day of the draft.</p><p>“All signs point to Cam Ward (Miami) being the pick at No. 1, so the thing to watch is what the Titans will do on Day 2,” Miller wrote.</p><p>Miller suggested that the Titans may trade up on day two, or even into the late first round, to acquire a talented wide receiver.</p><p>“Expect Tennessee to be aggressive in adding a wideout, possibly with a trade up from No. 35 overall to target a player such as Emeka Egbuka(Ohio State) or Luther Burden III (Missouri),” Miller concluded.</p><p>Egbuka feels like one of the most underrated players in the 2025 NFL draft class. This year’s class is pretty thin at receiver, which makes someone like Egbuka important for WR-needy teams to target.</p><p>Egbuka projects as a talented slot receiver in the NFL. However, that does not mean he won’t be an excellent pro, or that he isn’t worth trading up for.</p><p>In fact, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that one <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/ncaa-football/ohio-state-football-news-emeka-egbuka-favorable-comparison-nfc-north-pro-bowler-amon-ra-st-brown">Big Ten coach compared Egbuka to Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown</a>.</p><p>“Egbuka might be the most underrated offensive player in the draft right now,” the coach said. “He’s smart as s***. In ’12’ personnel, he went outside, too. When you’re evaluating him, you should be evaluating everything he does. Mid-to-high 4.4’s (40), straight ‘A’ student, the best interview. Don’t overthink it.”</p><p>Titans fans would certainly be thrilled to add a player of St. Brown’s talent. Pro Football Network lists their needs as quarterback, wide receiver, edge rusher, cornerback, and linebacker. With the most important positions in need of talent, the Titans have to crush this draft.</p><p>Who will the Titans take in the 2025 NFL Draft? How would you change the picks if you were the GM? Let’s look at this MFL Mock Draft Simulator.</p><h2><b>No surprises for the Titans in Round 1</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Cam-Ward-at-Miami-2.jpg"><figcaption>Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>The PFN mock draft simulator has the Titans taking <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/titans-rumors-no-1-pick-dilemma-cam-ward-private-workout">University of Miami quarterback Cam Ward</a> first overall. This pick is looking more and more like a formality by the day, as Tennessee sent a large group to Ward’s pro day in Florida. That included controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk in an unprecedented move. The Titans feel like they have their quarterback of the future in Cam Ward.</p><p>Ward has emerged from a mediocre quarterback class to be the consensus number one pick in this draft. The Titans need a signal-caller after a miserable season from Mason Rudolph and Will Levis. They think they found their quarterback in Ward but do not have a lot around him to succeed. Tony Pollard is a solid running back, but it is a bare cupboard outside of that. We’ll see if they get Ward any targets later in the draft.</p><h2><b>Improving the defense in Round 2</b></h2><p>For all of the talk about the Titans quarterback situation this draft season, their defense could use an improvement as well. They have the 35th overall pick, the third pick in the round, and improve that defense with Arkansas edge rusher Landon Jackson. He racked up 16 sacks in three years with the Razorbacks after one poor season at LSU. If Jackson comes in and starts immediately, that is a great use of a second-rounder.</p><p>The Titans did pass on a couple of players who could have helped Ward out. Minnesota tackle Aireontae Ersery goes right after Jackson to the Jaguars, running backs Quinshon Judkins and Omarvion Hampton were available, and multiple wideouts were taken in the second. But if Jackson stabilizes their defense, it’s a pick well spent.</p><h2><b>Trading down in the fourth</b></h2><p>The Titans do not trade back into the third round, so we advance to the fourth, where they have two picks. Instead of using the 103rd overall pick, they traded it to the Arizona Cardinals for picks 115 and 152. Arizona takes Kentucky defensive tackle Deone Walker with the pick. At 115th, the Titans make a curious pick, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/texas-football-news-quinn-ewers-reveals-why-he-thinks-hes-best-qb-draft-class">drafting Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers</a>.</p><p>Ewers was a solid quarterback in college, but it is odd to make this pick after drafting Ward. Washington did this many moons ago, taking Robert Griffin III second overall and Kirk Cousins later. But there were injury concerns with Griffin that Ward does not have. With a team so bereft of talent, this pick would have been better used on an offensive weapon.</p><p>The Titans are back on the clock at 120. In the four picks between their selections, a running back, offensive tackle, and wide receiver have come off the board. So new GM Mike Borgonzi adds to the defense and picks Virginia Tech edge rusher Antwaun Powell-Ryland. He had an amazing 16-sack season for the Hokies that could be huge for the Tennessee defense. Adding athletes at an important position is never a bad idea this late in the draft.</p><h2>Three picks in the fifth</h2><p>The Titans now have three picks in the fifth round of the NFL Draft after the trade with the Cardinals. They start at 141st overall and select another edge rusher, Jared Ivey from Ole Miss. A five-year college player, Ivey continued to ascend throughout his career. He put up seven sacks last year for the Rebels. Edge is an important position, but Borgonzi is running out of spaces to play these guys.</p><p>The 152nd pick is the one the Titans picked up from the Cardinals. Finally, they give Ward a weapon to use in the passing game with Clemson tight end Jake Briningstool. He had 530 yards on 49 receptions with seven touchdowns for the Tigers last year. This pick also improves their blocking, which needs a boost from last year.</p><p>Borgonzi and the Titans flip to the other side of the ball with the 167th pick, taking Kitan Crawford, the safety from Nevada. After four years at Texas, he transferred to Nevada and dominated in the Mountain West. After racking up an incredible 76 tackles and a pick-six last year, he is in the draft. Maybe he can become a special-teams star in addition to playing on defense for the Titans.</p><h2><b>The Titans finish it off in the sixth</b></h2><p>The Titans have two picks in the sixth round to finish off the draft. With the 178th overall pick, they give Ward another target. Nick Nash played six college seasons, all at San Jose State, changing from a quarterback to wide receiver three years in. His wideout stats are not great, but he can be a gadget player for Tennessee.</p><p>The final pick for the Titans is 188th overall. Cam Jackson, a defensive tackle from Florida, is the final addition to Tennessee’s defense. He made 37 tackles with four sacks as a fifth-year senior on the Gators. Therefore, an NFL insider confirmed another team would need to make a <a href="https://www.si.com/nfl/nfl-takeaways-cam-ward-emerged-no-1-draft-pick" rel="noopener">historic trade offer</a> for them to pass on Cam Ward, according to Sports Illustrated.</p><p>“Take the Tennessee Titans’ decision to cancel their Wednesday workout with Shedeur Sanders for what it is,” Albert Breer wrote. “Plainly, my sense is it’s a powerful sign of the conviction they’ve built in Cam Ward’s worthiness as the first pick in 17 days. His 46.8 QBR when under pressure ranked 10th in the FBS last season.”</p><p>Also, he owns a quick release, instinctive passing ability, and he’s creative. Some people believe he is the most pro-ready quarterback in the class, insistent that he deserves to go no later than No. 3. Others question his arm strength and ability to quickly <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/ncaa-football/colorado-football-news-shedeur-sanders-pre-nfl-draft-workout-concerns">get rid of the football</a>, seeing him as more of a mid to late-first-round pick.</p><p>The wide range of opinions regarding the Colorado Buffaloes product will continue to be a main talking point in the next two and a half weeks. It is unknown how the Tennessee Titans grade Sanders, but their latest action indicates they are not considering him with the No. 1 overall selection.</p><p>The team met with Buffaloes duo Sanders and Travis Hunter after Colorado’s Pro Day, mutually agreeing to <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/tennessee-titans/titans-decides-to-cancel-shedeur-sanders-private-workout">cancel previously scheduled private workouts</a>. It is becoming increasingly more likely that the Titans will grab Miami QB Cam Ward with the top pick. Where does that leave the draft’s most famous player?</p><p>The Ringer’s Todd McShay thinks Sanders will be at the heart of <a href="https://x.com/McShay13/status/1908630603119149421" rel="noopener">a crucial decision</a> on April 24, one that he personally considers to be straightforward.</p><p>“And now I’m starting to hear more and more about Hunter to Cleveland at No. 2,” the analyst posted on X. “That would mean Abdul Carter vs. Shedeur for the Giants at No. 3. ***Not a difficult decision IMO.”</p><h2><b>Would teams regret passing on Shedeur Sanders?</b></h2><p>Many view the Penn State edge rusher as the best talent in the 2025 NFL Draft, noting his striking explosiveness and athleticism, but the New York Giants lack a franchise quarterback. If general manager Joe Schoen thinks Sanders has star potential, it might be irresponsible to pass over him.</p><p>However, New York could prioritize the present over the future after signing both Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency. If the Giants take the Carter route, Shedeur Sanders’ landing spot becomes much harder to predict. The Pittsburgh Steelers, who also do not have a long-term option under center, could scoop him up at No. 21 if he drops. The Titans need to collect as much information as possible on the top prospects in this year’s class to ensure they aren’t picking first overall next year.</p><p>Well, while that may be the case, according to Titans staff writer Jim Wyatt, Tennessee has seen enough of one of the top prospects in this year’s class, Shedeur Sanders, as, after watching his Pro Day in Boulder, they’ve decided to cancel their private worker with the <a href="https://x.com/jwyattsports/status/1908582623338779116" rel="noopener">second-generation NFL star</a>.</p><p>“After yesterday’s Colorado Pro Day, Titans brass met with Shedeur Sanders’ camp, and the parties have agreed to cancel the upcoming private workout,” Wyatt wrote. “The Titans have seen four years of game film, scouted multiple games, and now attended a Pro Day they described as very impressive.”</p><p>Now, on paper, Wyatt’s assertion isn’t wrong per se; the Titans have seen Sanders play four years of college ball, have talked to people in his life, and have gone to his Pro Day, where they got to see him work out first-hand alongside his peers.</p><p>With that being said, why not bring Sanders in for a visit and get even more data points on him? Is the franchise sold on their current evaluation of Sanders, or are they more-or-less sure they they are drafting Cam Ward, with that visit better utilized on a player who could be there at the top of the second round, instead of a first round option who they can choose to draft or not to draft?</p><p>While Sanders could end up going first overall, this feels like a certified endorsement of him not being the first overall pick, which opens things up for the Cleveland Browns to select him at two or for another team like the New York Giants, Las Vegas Raiders, or New York Jets to pick him at spots on the board.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Duddy and Levis went to Penn State together.</p><p>As for Fuller, her claim to fame was in Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor, where she was a contestant. The show aired in 2020. Fuller did not find love during her season as Weber ended up getting engaged to Hannah Ann Sluss. It seems his successor could come from the 2025 NFL Draft.</p><p>NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe explained why the Titans <a href="https://x.com/CameronWolfe/status/1907947360015233373" rel="noopener">have not made a final decision</a> on Cam Ward.</p><p>“While one person described it to me as ‘Cam Ward is the leader in the clubhouse’… there’s no complete, final decision yet,” Wolfe said on Thursday. “A big part of the reason is there are still teams trying to knock on their door seeing what could we try to trade to potentially get up to number one.”</p><p>There are several quarterback-needy teams that could offer a large trade package to the Titans for the first overall pick.</p><p>“One of those teams, the New York Giants, has been consistent throughout the process,” Wolfe added. “I saw their general manager Joe Schoen talking with Borgonzi at The Breakers at West Palm having one of those conversations that he had again at [Cam Ward’s] pro day.”</p><p>The <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-york-giants/giants-news-new-york-russell-wilson-agree-21-million-contract">Giants signed Russell Wilson to a one-year, $21 million contract</a> in late March. Wilson gives New York good insurance in case Tennessee picks Ward.</p><p>However, the Giants do not intend to give up on trade talks.</p><p>“One thing I did found out that was interesting throughout the Cam Ward process was their owner, Amy Adams Strunk, visited the Miami private workout they had with Cam Ward,” Wolfe concluded. “This is a little bit unusual for an owner, maybe another sign of just how interested they are in Cam Ward.”</p><h2><b>Titans rumored to need ‘Godfather’ trade offer to not take Cam Ward</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Cam-Ward_5e1924.jpg"><figcaption>Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>There continues to be more and more smoke around the Titans selecting Cam Ward with the first overall pick.</p><p>In fact, ESPN’s Field Yates even said that it would take a massive trade offer for <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/tennessee-titans/titans-rumors-godfather-trade-offer-needed-not-take-cam-ward">Tennessee to give up their first-round pick and pass on Cam Ward</a>.</p><p>“Absent a ‘Godfather’-style trade offer — one the Titans cannot refuse — I fully expect Tennessee to take Ward and build this franchise around him. He had an incredible 2024 season in which he led the FBS in passing touchdowns with 39, and he’s the best innovator in the quarterback class when the play breaks down. While this group of quarterbacks does not stack up to last year’s elite class, the majority of evaluators I’ve spoken with view Ward as the clear top signal-caller and worthy of the first pick,” Yates wrote in his latest mock draft.</p><p>The Titans currently have Will Levis, Brandon Allen, and Tim Boyle in their quarterback room. Previously, Preston worked as an associate editor for Dot Esports and a site expert for FanSided's Union and Blue.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">NFL</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/49ers-news-owner-sacrifice-admission-pay-brock-purdy">Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers</a> have yet to come to an agreement on a contract extension, which has led to speculation that the former ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ could be traded instead.</p><p>Although <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/49ers-news-what-john-lynch-would-love-brock-purdy-contract-extension">team general manager John Lynch</a> and owner Jed York appear willing to sign Purdy to what will surely be a lucrative, long-term deal, they have not done so yet. And with the NFL Draft quickly approaching, one 49ers reporter <a href="https://www.si.com/nfl/49ers/news/will-49ers-trade-brock-purdy-titans-draft-night" rel="noopener">floated the possibility</a> of the team trading Purdy on draft night.</p><p>“Purdy’s agent seems to think his client is worth $60 million per season simply because that’s what <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/49ers-rumors-brock-purdy-hit-dak-prescott-reality-contract-talks">the Cowboys pay Dak Prescott</a>,” 49ers on SI’s Grant Cohn said. “The 49ers probably are willing to pay him $50 million per season, but $60 million per could be too much.</p><p>“If Purdy and his agent refuse to budge, the 49ers could give them permission to seek a trade. And the Tennessee Titans just might be interested.”</p><p>Cohn suggested the Titans draft Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter with the No. 1 overall pick and trade for Purdy, who would then get a big extension in Tennessee. The <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/tennessee-titans/titans-rumors-godfather-trade-offer-needed-not-take-cam-ward">Titans have been linked to Miami quarterback Cam Ward</a> for much of the draft process because of a glaring team need.</p><p>In Cohn’s hypothetical, the Titans, in exchange for Purdy, would trade a 2025 first-round pick (which they would need to acquire if they draft Carter first overall) and a 2026 second-round pick that could become a first-rounder depending on the Titans and Purdy’s success. San Francisco would then either draft a quarterback like Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders or sign or trade for a <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/49ers-rumors-insider-floats-brock-purdy-trade-aaron-rodgers-signing">veteran like Aaron Rodgers</a>, Kirk Cousins, or Mac Jones.</p><p>It would seem unlikely that any of that would happen, though. While the 49ers are probably hesitant to give Purdy one of the biggest contracts in NFL history, they are not in a great position to let a 25-year-old quarterback who led them to a Super Bowl just over a year ago walk.</p><p>Purdy’s true value has been the subject of much debate over the past few years. After being selected with the last pick in the 2022 draft, Purdy shockingly had success when he was forced to become the 49ers’ starter as a rookie. He and San Francisco made it to the NFC Championship, but early into the game, he tore his UCL, knocking him out of the game and dooming the 49ers.</p><p>The following year, Purdy was named the starting quarterback before the season, and he excelled in the role. He led the NFL in passer rating and helped the Niners win 12 games, the NFC West, and reach the Super Bowl for the first time since 2020.</p><p>If Purdy and the 49ers can’t come to a deal before this summer, it would not be a surprise if he holds in or out, much like teammates Trent Williams and Brandon Aiyuk did last season.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
