The team that drafted him was the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the Florida State product has thrived with the Los Angeles Rams and Miami Dolphins as well. Now, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/dolphins-news-miami-explore-jalen-ramsey-trade-options">the Dolphins and Ramsey have mutually agreed to seek a trade</a>, meaning the cornerback will be playing for his fourth team next season.</p><p>A number of <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/betting/raiders-news-las-vegas-favored-land-jalen-ramsey-dolphins-trade-rumors">teams will be interested in making a deal</a>, but could a homecoming to Jacksonville make sense? Here is a trade proposal that the Jaguars can make for the seven-time Pro Bowler.</p><h2><b>Jaguars trade proposal for Jalen Ramsey</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Jalen-Ramsey-Jaguars.jpg"><figcaption>Shanna Lockwood-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p><b>Jaguars receive:</b> Jalen Ramsey</p><p><b>Dolphins receive:</b> Fifth-round pick</p><p>Arguably the best season in Jaguars history came in 2017 when Jacksonville went 10-6 and made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game. That team had an elite defense, and Ramsey was arguably the best player on that unit. The only thing that prevented the Jaguars from making the Super Bowl was the New England Patriots and Tom Brady.</p><p>New England was, of course, the greatest dynasty in league history at that time, and their quarterback was the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/nfl-stories/updating-and-ranking-the-50-greatest-nfl-players-of-all-time">best player in NFL history.</a> While Ramsey has continued to prosper, the Jaguars have not been able to replicate what they had in 2017. They’ve undergone numerous rebuilds, notably spending big in free agency in the years since. They’ve even twice selected at the top of the NFL Draft, taking both Trevor Lawrence and Travon Walker at No. 1 overall.</p><p>The Jaguars are coming off of a four-win season, and big changes are ahead. While their free agent additions were a little underwhelming, the acquisitions of Jourdan Lewis, Dyami Brown, and Hunter Long will help next season. The team needs to make big splashes in the 2025 NFL Draft and through the trade market, though.</p><p>They will pick fifth overall, but a trade for Ramsey makes a lot of sense, too. The cornerback isn’t the player he once was, but he is still a high-level starter. Considering his age (30) and contract, Ramsey could be had for relatively cheap. It only took Long and a third-round pick for the Dolphins to acquire him two years ago, so a fifth-round pick should suffice now. Additionally, with plenty of <a href="https://overthecap.com/salary-cap-space" rel="noopener">cap space</a>, the Jaguars are one of the few teams that can actually realistically deal for Ramsey.</p><p>The Jaguars shouldn’t expect Ramsey to be the All-Pro player he was in years past, but he has made the Pro Bowl in seven of his last eight seasons, so they could expect a few more good years. Plus, his leadership and experience would be beneficial on a young rebuilding team.</p><h2><b>Has the Dolphins’ championship window closed?</b></h2><p>The Dolphins made tons of high-profile moves for superstar players in the hopes that they could compete for the championship in recent years. In addition to their <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/jalen-ramsey-trade-grades-rams-dolphins">trade for Ramsey,</a> the team made blockbuster deals for Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb, and they signed star free agents such as Terron Armstead.</p><p>Those moves haven’t panned out the way the Dolphins had expected. Injuries have decimated the team year after year, and they haven’t been able to figure out the quarterback position. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/dolphins-news-chris-grier-delivers-strict-tua-tagovailoa-injury-demand">Tua Tagovailoa has missed plenty of time because of injuries</a>, and he has been pretty average when he has been on the field. Now, all of these big-name players on the Dolphins roster are aging and their primes are passing them by.</p><p>Miami doesn’t look like a legitimate contender for next season, so it would make sense to flip a veteran like Ramsey for draft capital. The team’s Super Bowl window has seemingly passed, hence why so many players have been involved in trade rumors. While it now seems that the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/dolphins-news-gm-addresses-tyreek-hill-trade-rumors-but-catch">Dolphins will keep Hill,</a> he seemingly requested a trade out of town after last season for a reason.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Well, you've come to the right place.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Jacksonville Jaguars</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>When it comes to the 2025 NFL Draft, one of the biggest questions at the top is <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/bears-rumors-insider-suggests-ashton-jeanty-draft-trade-up-ideal-scenario">which teams will and won’t select Ashton Jeanty</a>, the superstar running back out of Boise State.</p><p>Widely considered one of the best players in this year’s class regardless of the position, Jeanty has the unlucky honor of playing the least valued position in football, with some general managers outright refusing to select a running back in the first round regardless of how talented they are because of positional value and the longevity of the position.</p><p>And yet, in the humble opinion of Peter Schrager on <i>The Pat McAfee Show</i>, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=941&amp;v=ngQY8BjR0z4&amp;feature=youtu.be" rel="noopener">fans shouldn’t feel too bad</a> for Jeanty, as the NFL Insider believes he could come off the board as early as five to the Jacksonville Jaguars.</p><p>“I would start at five with Jacksonville. I would say that Liam Coen comes in here, and Liam Coen is an offensive guy. At four with the Patriots could be a possibility, especially if Josh wants to get the offense going,” Peter Schrager declared.</p><p>“Then you just look at the classic argument of do you want your defensive tackle of the future, do you want your offensive line of the future or do you want this stud running back, it’s an age old debate, where do you draft a running back. I’ll tell you this: The last two running backs to go in those early picks were Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs. I think those two guys worked out pretty well.”</p><p>Alright, would it be surprising to see Jeanty come off the board at pick five? Oh yeah, as the Jags have already picked up Travis Etienne’s fifth-year option for this season and have 2023 third-round pick Tank Bigsby, who actually led the team in rushing last season.</p><p>Still, it’s hard to argue that Ashton Jeanty wouldn’t be the best player of the trio right from the jump and wouldn’t check off an offensive box for the future like <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/buccaneers-news-bucky-irving-forcing-his-way-into-the-rookie-of-the-year-conversation">Bucky Irving did for Liam Coen in Tampa Bay</a> last year. One team with a high draft pick <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/editorials/jacksonville-jaguars-7-round-2025-nfl-mock-draft-pff-simulator">is the Jacksonville Jaguars,</a> who select fifth overall. There are plenty of paths the new Jaguars leadership of head coach Liam Coen and general manager James Gladstone can go. NFL insider Adam Schefter has recommended targeting two of <a href="https://www.news4jax.com/video/news/2025/04/11/talking-jaguars-draft-with-espn-s-adam-schefter/" rel="noopener">the draft’s top defenders</a> with their first rounder, according to numerous media outlets. These defenders? Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham and Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker.</p><p>“The fifth pick there. They’ve got a lot of needs. There’s a lot of different ways that they could go. I think the feeling across the league seems to be that they would lean defense,” Schefter said to News4Jax on Friday. “They might lean defensive line. I think the name that you continue to see mocked there is Mason Graham, the Michigan defensive tackle. Don’t think it would be a surprise if they went in that direction.”</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/ncaa-football/michigan-football-news-mason-graham-agent-drew-rosenhaus-top-5-declaration-after-nfl-draft-decision">Graham would be a great</a> addition to the heart of the Jacksonville defense. Although DaVon Hamilton had a strong 2024 season, and veteran Arik Armstead had a solid first season with the Jaguars, talent is needed for the future. Armstead is entering his age 31 season, and fresh legs could be used to spell both him and Hamilton. Furthermore, Graham certainly has the talent to be better than both of them by the end of his rookie season. All three starters at the moment are solid, but there isn’t a true difference maker. Furthermore, linebacker also needs depth, perhaps even more than the defensive line. Could Walker make <a href="https://www.si.com/nfl/jaguars/adam-schefter-mason-graham-jalon-walker" rel="noopener">a greater initial impact?</a></p><p>“Think there’s a lot of different ways they still could go. They could wind up using that pick on a pass rusher. It depends, of course, what goes on with the four picks in front of them. However, he said on Wednesday that he is “very optimistic” that he will “be perfectly good for the season.”</p><p>“The amount of throws might be a little lighter to start and work our way up, just until I get really, fully back,” Lawrence said of his offseason plan via NFL.com’s Nick Shook. “I imagine that and maybe just some handoff stuff will be a little limited, but besides that I think that won’t last too long. I’m throwing and obviously progressing my way up, further distance, more throws, just trying to be smart and not jump into the deep end right away. Although the advanced metrics have not always been in his favor, the Jaguars still committed to 2022 No.1 overall pick Travon Walker.</p><p>The team is exercising the $14.75 million <a href="https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/travon-walker/98940" rel="noopener">fifth-year option</a> in the defensive end’s rookie contract, per Pro football Talk’s Myles Simmons. This move is unsurprising, especially when considering that the two sides have begun conversations about an extension.</p><p>Finding the balance between implementing changes and retaining certain elements is tricky in any organizational transition, but Walker made Gladstone’s choice much easier due to his recent production. The 2021-22 national champion with Georgia has posted 20.5 sacks, 58 solo tackles, 23 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in the last two seasons combined.</p><p>Beyond the counting stats, Walker also earned a personal-best <a href="https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/travon-walker/98940" rel="noopener">68.2 grade</a> from Pro Football Focus. He made an impact as both a pass-rusher and run-defender during the 2024-25 campaign. He has at least two years left to further entrench himself as a valuable member of the Jaguars’ defense. A well-rounded 2025-26 season would probably secure Walker a big future payday, whether it comes from Jacksonville or another squad.</p><h2><b>Jaguars’ pivotal offseason continues</b></h2><p>It is important for Jacksonville to make the most out of its draft positioning. Gladstone must come away with a game-breaker at No. 5, thereby adding more impactful talent around quarterback Trevor Lawrence.</p><p>Neither Abdul Carter nor Travis Hunter are expected to fall in the Jaguars’ grasp, but the squad can still upgrade its defense with Michigan’s Mason Graham or provide Lawrence with more offensive line protection in the form of LSU’s Will Campbell or Missouri’s Armand Membou. The team gained its influx of late-round selections from previous trades but received zero compensatory picks. However, with 10 picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Jaguars have the most draft capital in the league over the next two years.</p><p>Since hiring Coen, Gladstone has already gotten the ball rolling in free agency. Like most rebuilding rosters, the Jaguars were active in free agency, both in adding and removing players. Jacksonville notably <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/jaguars-news-jacksonville-8-year-cowboys-veteran-highest-paid-nickel-cb-nfl">signed Jourdan Lewis</a>, Eric Murray, Dyami Brown, Patrick Mekari and Nick Mullens. Graham just wrapped up one of the most dominant careers for a defensive tackle in Michigan football history, ending 2024 with 46 tackles and 3.5 sacks.</p><p>Beyond veteran Arik Armstead, the Jaguars do not have much depth in their interior defensive line. Graham would immediately have a chance to alter the landscape of Jacksonville’s defense, which has had a void in the middle for several years. After years of receiving constant double teams at Michigan, Graham’s presence on the Jaguars’ defensive line would create all sorts of mismatches with Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker beside him. Coen and defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile would have to be bursting with anticipation on the potential chaos Graham could create for them.</p><h2><b>Round 2, Pick 36: Edge Nic Scourton (Texas A&amp;M)</b></h2><p>The PFF mock draft simulator has the Jaguars investing in their defensive line again with their second pick and taking Texas A&amp;M edge rusher Nic Scourton. A pure pass-rush specialist, Scourton tallied five sacks in 2024 after racking up 10 with Purdue in 2023. While his numbers and overall production dropped, he still has the size and strength to be an immediate contributor.</p><p>With rumors that the Jaguars could potentially trade former No. 1 pick Travon Walker, the team could need to pursue edge rushers in the near future. Drafting a player like Scourton would fill that need and further the Walker trade rumors. The California native was one of the top unexpected breakout stars of 2024, going from 27 total tackles in his first two seasons to 136 as a junior. Schwesinger would provide depth to a positional group that currently only consists of four players.</p><p>Going to the Jaguars would be an ideal scenario for Schwesinger. He would develop behind Foyesade Oluokun and Devin Lloyd, two elite tacklers his game emulates. Campanile’s linebacker background would also make for a great destination. The pairing would be great for both sides, making the UCLA star a very reasonable target in the second or third round.</p><h2><b>Round 3, Pick 88: WR Savion Williams (TCU)</b></h2><p>The Jaguars need a receiver, and the PFF NFL mock draft simulator has them addressing that void in the third round with TCU wideout Savion Williams. In his fifth season in Fort Worth, Williams put up a career-high 611 receiving yards and six touchdowns. He added 322 rushing yards and six additional scores on the ground. Williams is one of the most versatile receivers in the draft, with a Deebo Samuel-like ceiling and the skill set to be used in multiple facets.</p><p>By <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/jaguars-news-jacksonville-trades-christian-kirk-texans-instead-releasing-him">trading Christian Kirk</a>, the Jaguars are fully handing the offense over to Brian Thomas Jr. Based on his rookie production, that appears to be the right move. Still, Jacksonville needs additional help at the position, and Williams is an acceptable target. He is not the type of player who will likely ever grow into a No. 1 wideout, but that is not who the Jaguars need him to be. Landing Williams should have fans excitedly anticipating the sets Coen can draw up with him on the team.</p><h2><b>Round 4, Pick 107: S Jonas Sanker (Virginia)</b></h2><p>A three-year starter at Virginia, Jonas Sanker fell two tackles shy of a second consecutive 100-tackle season in 2024. As a physical run-stopper, Sanker would provide depth at strong safety behind Eric Murray, who signed with the team in free agency. With Murray turning 31 in January, Gladstone would be wise to add insurance behind him. At this point in the draft, Sanker would be an acceptable target.</p><p>As good as Sanker’s feel for the game is, his physical results may vary at the next level. His Combine results were all over the board, recording impressive broad jump and 10-second split numbers but disappointing bench press and 40-yard dash stats. Sanker seems more like a special teamer early in his career, which may cause Jacksonville to look elsewhere. Still, the Jaguars’ safety needs are prominent, and Sanker is a high-floor option in the middle rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft.</p><h2><b>Round 4, Pick 126 WR Tory Horton (Colorado State)</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Travis-Hunter_858001.jpg"><figcaption>Cris Tiller / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>With their second fourth-round pick, the Jaguars select a more traditional wide receiver in Tory Horton, according to the PFF NFL 2025 mock draft simulator. Though limited by injuries in 2024, Horton has two 1,000-yard seasons to his name in 2022 and 2023. While his 185-pound frame is a concern, several other small receivers have overcome that narrative in recent years to pave the way for players like Horton.</p><p>There is a high chance the Jaguars will end the 2025 NFL Draft with multiple receivers, as this simulator predicts. Jacksonville desperately needs depth at the position, and the draft is the best source at this stage of the offseason. Had Horton not suffered his injury, he could be a second or third-round prospect. His upside gives him tremendous value in round four, particularly for a team like the Jaguars.</p><h2><b>Round 5, Pick 142: WR Kobe Hudson (UCF)</b></h2><p>The PFF simulator has the Jaguars investing in another receiver, taking a third pass-catcher in four picks. This time, Jacksonville selects Kobe Hudson, who spent his final three years at UCF after transferring from Auburn. Hudson ended his collegiate career with 1,670 receiving yards over his final two seasons with the Knights. At 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, Hudson has the ideal size for an NFL wideout but does not have the same ceiling as either Horton or Williams.</p><p>The Jaguars assuredly need to add receivers in the 2025 NFL Draft, but Hudson does not exactly fit the mold of what they are looking for. If they were to take Williams and Hudson as the PFF simulator projects, this pick would be better spent on a tight end, assuming Gladstone takes this heavy of an offensive approach. Jacksonville released Evan Engram shortly after trading Kirk, leaving Brenton Strange the top man of the group. Hudson would not be a bad pick, but this one might be better spent elsewhere.</p><h2><b>Round 6, Pick 182: OT Logan Brown (Kansas)</b></h2><p>The Jaguars do not desperately need a tackle, but the opening is there after they traded Cam Robinson to the Minnesota Vikings during the 2024 season. The Robinson trade opened the door for 2023 first-round pick Anton Harrison, who has impressed, but not necessarily excelled, with the additional opportunity. Drafting Kansas’ Logan Brown in the sixth round is not a bad idea.</p><p>Brown, a former five-star recruit, did not break into the Jayhawks’ starting lineup until his senior season. The limited sample size is worrisome. Hence, his stock is where it currently is. Yet, with above-average size and respectable athleticism, there is a path to meaningful playing time. Brown will likely spend his rookie season as a functional redshirt year, potentially even on a practice squad. He could gain quality reps behind Walker Little and Harrison with the chance to grow into a potential starter down the line.</p><h2><b>Round 6, Pick 194: DT Junior Tafuna (Utah)</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Utah-football.jpg"><figcaption>Jamie Sabau-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>If every coach had a player like Junior Tafuna, they would all be happy. The odds of finding a diamond in the rough this late in the draft are slim to none, and Tafuna will not be that guy. Yet, with two second-team All-Pac 12 recognitions to his name, Tafuna has the motor to produce in a limited capacity. He will not become an every-down player, but he can become a quality backup on any roster.</p><p>Tafuna’s best season at Utah came as a freshman when he tallied 33 tackles and 4.5 sacks. As he gained more respect and double-team coverages from opponents, his numbers slowly declined throughout his career. However, Tafuna’s energy and passion never waned. With seven batted passes and two interceptions in his career, Tafuna is a player who drives off pure grit more than skill. There are many worse players the Jaguars could take with their sixth-round pick.</p><h2><b>Round 7, Pick 221: WR Efton Chism III (Eastern Washington)</b></h2><p>As a 5-foot-11, 200-pound receiver from FCS program Eastern Washington, Efton Chism III is one of the more intriguing prospects of the class. He spent five years with the Eagles, which is unique for a typical FCS prospect, but the decision ended up paying off. In his fifth year, Chism showed out with 1,311 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. Those numbers ranked second in the FCS behind just Tarleton State’s Darius Cooper.</p><p>Chism’s lack of athleticism does not make up for his diminutive stature, making it possible he goes undrafted. But there is still more than enough natural talent and production for a team like the Jaguars to take a shot on him late. He will not be the next Puka Nacua, but players with his similar play style and physique have carved out roles for themselves in the league. Wes Welker, Braxton Berrios, Hunter Renfrow and others have recognized extraordinary success considering their pre-draft expectations. Perhaps Chism can join them in history and carve out a role in the slot between Thomas and Gabe Davis on the Jaguars.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

That includes the Jacksonville Jaguars.</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/editorials/jacksonville-jaguars-5-round-post-free-agency-frenzy-2025-nfl-mock-draft-per-pfn-simulator">The Jaguars</a> hired Liam Coen away from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in order to build a more consistent offense. That’s just what the Jaguars should do according to CBS Sports mock draft issued by writer Kyle Stackpole — but only after they use their initial pick on a defensive stalwart.</p><p>In his latest effort, Stackpole has the Jaguars using the No. 5 pick in the first round to select defensive lineman Mason Graham of Michigan. Graham is considered a do-it-all defensive star who can dominate against the run and also provide significant pressure as an interior pass rusher.</p><p>Once that pick is made, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/texans-news-christian-kirk-trade-jaguars-has-houston-fans-fired-up">the Jaguars</a> can go to work on building an improved receiving crew for quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Stackpole has the Jaguars doing that through a proposed trade with the Philadelphia Eagles for the No. 32 and final pick of the first round. The Jaguars should use that pick to select Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka.</p><h2><b>Jaguars need significant help at the WR position</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Emeka-Egbuka-has-proved-his-skills-at-the-college-level.jpg"><figcaption>Mandatory Credit: Mark J. Thomas caught 87 passes for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns last year. Outside of Thomas, Lawrence does not have much to work with on the receiving front.</p><p>That’s why the latest CBS Sports mock draft effort has the Jaguars selecting Egbuka. The former Buckeye superstar has had a remarkable college career that has seen him play four seasons in Columbus.</p><p>Egbuka is known for his consistency, and he was at his best in the 2024 season when he was the senior leader of the receiving crew. Egbuka was a go-to receiver for head coach Ryan Day and he caught 81 passes for 1,011 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was healthy throughout the season and played in all 16 games for the national champions.</p><p>Egbuka was limited to 10 games in 2023 when he caught 41-515-4. He had been dominant as a sophomore when he caught 74-1,151-11.</p><p>Egbuka can line up at any wide receiver position and contribute. If the Jaguars have both Allen and Egbuka in the lineup, Lawrence may have one of the most dependable wide receiver duos in the NFL at his disposal.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

The team has a new coach, and a new general manager. Jacksonville’s leadership is getting criticized already by football insiders for decisions being made this season.</p><p>The Jaguars are especially getting slammed for paying<a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/jaguars-news-jacksonville-secondary-wide-receiver-2-free-agents"> major money this offseason to defensive back Eric Murray</a>. ESPN insiders <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/44249852/nfl-free-agency-2025-experts-big-questions-signings-trades-contracts" rel="noopener">are having a field day</a> with the decision.</p><p>“He can play in split-field coverages, and Murray has the demeanor to operate near the line of scrimmage. Plus, he can contribute to all four core special teams units,” Matt Bowen said, per ESPN. “But with only three interceptions in 124 career games, the Jags overpaid for the 31-year-old on a three-year, $22.5 million deal.”</p><p>Bowen isn’t alone in feeling this was the wrong move.</p><p>“The Jags needed to upgrade their defense, especially at secondary after ranking among the league’s worst against the pass in 2024,” national NFL reporter Lindsey Thiry said. “However, this three-year, $22.5 million price tag seems steep given Murray’s lack of production. Perhaps first-year general manager James Gladstone and Coen value Murray’s intangibles and versatility more than his ability to make plays on the ball.”</p><p>NFL analyst Field Yates was a bit easier on the team, but still critiqued that decision.</p><p>“A lower-tier value like this isn’t crippling, but I thought Jacksonville might lean younger under new leadership,” Yates said.</p><p>The Jaguars and their fans certainly hope the move pays off this coming season. Not only is the Murray decision getting criticized, but so is the deal to bring in center Robert Hainsey.</p><p>“No other team was paying him $21 million over three years — he wasn’t a starter last season,” reporter Jeremy Fowler said. “He has familiarity with coach Liam Coen from Tampa Bay, and you want to see quality veterans get paid. But the Jaguars probably could have gotten him for less.”</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/jaguars-news-hire-james-gladstone-from-rams-new-gm">Gladstone is one of the youngest general managers</a> in the NFL, at 34. He previously worked for the Los Angeles Rams, moving his way up in that organization. Coen has never been an NFL head coach before. As such, he projects as a backup running back who could work well as part of a committee.</p><p>The Jaguars pick up a pair of depth players with their final selections of this five-round mock.</p><p>Kiser will enter the NFL at 25 years old and projects as primarily a special teamer.
