The Dolphins <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/dolphins-news-miami-solidifies-backfield-agrees-to-jeff-wilson-jr-contract" rel="noopener">also inked Jeff Wilson Jr.</a> to a two-year deal on Tuesday, making it a running back reunion of sorts in South Beach.</p><p>After playing every game in 2021 and starting 10 of them for Miami, Gaskin struggled to stay on the field last season. He had just 10 rushing attempts across four games as he was plagued by injury and a flooded running back room.</p><p>Mostert took over the starting reins from Gaskin and led the way with 891 rushing yards in 16 games. Chase Edmonds joined from the Arizona Cardinals prior to last season but never established himself and was subsequently included in the package that <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/dolphins-news-miami-makes-1466-million-bradley-chubb-move" rel="noopener">landed Miami Bradley Chubb</a>. On the same day, the Dolphins traded for Wilson Jr.</p><p>Miami struggled mightily in the run game in 2022. Only the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had fewer rushing attempts last season, and the Dolphins ranked 25th in rushing yards.</p><p>With those sort of numbers, it may come as a bit of a surprise that Miami would choose to retain all three backs. However, the Dolphins did average 109 rushing yards per game in nine games after adding Wilson Jr.</p><p>Myles Gaskin will most likely enter camp as RB3 on the depth chart, but he will at least get a shot at getting healthy and carving out some carries for a playoff-caliber team.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

It’s been an impressive turnaround, as this franchise hopes to shock the world with an appearance in the postseason. However, running back Myles Gaskin has, unfortunately, come down with COVID-19.</p><p>Not all is bad though, as the Dolphins received some good news regarding their starting running back. <a href="https://twitter.com/tompelissero/status/1469406958591561733?s=21">According to Tom Pelissero</a>, Gaskin is fully vaccinated and could return to the lineup in time for their Week 15 matchup against the New York Jets.</p><figure class="op-interactive"><blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p dir="ltr" lang="en"><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Dolphins?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw" target="_blank">#Dolphins</a> RB Myles Gaskin tested positive for COVID-19, source said. However, it sounds like Myles Gaskin is likely to recover quickly and be available for the Dolphins as soon as possible. Luckily for them, Miami is currently on their bye week, giving Gaskin plenty of time to bounce back.</p><p>Myles Gaskin <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/3-storylines-to-keep-an-eye-on-during-dolphins-bye-week/">has had an up and down season so far</a>. It seems like he goes bonkers one week, then falls flat the next. Regardless, he currently has 526 rushing yards along with seven total touchdowns. Although he’s only averaging 3.4 yards per carry, the Dolphins’ running back is on pace to have the best season of his career so far.</p><p>Miami is set to take on the New York Jets in Week 15. Although they are division rivals, this is a game the Dolphins can easily win. With Tua Tagovailoa developing nicely and the receiving core becoming healthy, Miami has suddenly become one of the more dangerous teams in the AFC.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
