Following a lopsided 40-22 victory, head coach Nick Sirianni, running back Saquon Barkley, and quarterback Jalen Hurts are ready to run it back.</p><p>While the team could easily keep celebrating, it wouldn’t be a good look. As Sirianni explained via Zach Berman of PHLY on X (formerly Twitter), the <a href="https://x.com/ZBerm/status/1907055874721366505" rel="noopener">result won’t be pretty</a>.</p><p>“With our team and the leaders that we have on this football team, if you’re not busting your butt and giving everything you got, you’ll be exposed,” Sirianni said. “Try not to work hard in front of Saquon Barkley or Jalen Hurts. They’ll be on you.”</p><p>The fact that the two best players on the team set that standard is impressive. Sometimes, star players will coast because of talent or because of tasting victory.</p><p>However, it has been anything but that for the Eagles. While they celebrated in style, roughly two months after winning, it’s back to business.</p><p>After losing Brandon Graham to retirement, and some other key pieces, some think Philadelphia is done. Still, they kept their main core.</p><p>Despite losing offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to the New Orleans Saints, it hasn’t changed the Eagles’ preparation style.</p><h2><b>Nick Sirianni, Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley ready for Eagles’ season</b></h2><p>Sirianni kept talking via Berman regarding preparing for the season. Again, it is only April. Plenty of teams are allowing their players to rest and recover. For the Eagles head coach, that <a href="https://x.com/ZBerm/status/1907055453244203302" rel="noopener">doesn’t seem to be an option</a>.</p><p>“We’re to a point now where the celebration is over,” Sirianni said. “Our preparation is here. Celebration is over. Preparation is here.”</p><p>The celebration was fun while it lasted. As a result though, it puts a massive target on the Eagles’ back. With the flurry of moves in the offseason, on paper, they might look weaker.</p><p>Still, they have that gritty Eagles culture. They are determined that no one will outwork them, despite winning the Super Bowl. Establishing a potential dynasty has that as one of the elements.</p><p>Winning is fun, but complacency is a major poison in all sports. Once people get a taste of winning, that’s all they can refer to. However, that’s not the case for the team.</p><p>Even though <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/eagles-news-powerful-post-saquon-barkley-offensive-player-year-win">Barkley won the 2024 Offensive Player of the Year</a> and Hurts won the Super Bowl LIX MVP, it hasn’t changed their vision.</p><p>If the top two players on the team are working their hardest, why shouldn’t everyone else? But this combo maneuver was so impressive that even the elitest of the elite of <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/giants-news-eli-manning-hilariously-accuses-saquon-barkley-stealing-backwards-hurdle-move" rel="noopener">the athletic world took notice</a>, including LeBron James, whose name just so happened to grace Barkley’s cleats during the game.</p><p>Discussing what he saw from the Super Bowl champion on that fateful day back in November on the<i> Pat McAfee Show</i>, James celebrated Barkley for accomplishing an incredible feat while wearing his LeBron Retro 4s, noting that he “<a href="https://x.com/Eagles/status/1904982778946474480" rel="noopener">couldn’t believe</a>” what he was seeing.</p><p>“Seeing Saquon Barkley out there and I’ve got guys wearing my shoes now? You know where Saquon did that move where he turned backward and did that pirouette backward and jumped up in the air? He had my kicks on, and I was like, ‘Oh my goodness.’ He had the LeBron Retro 4s on in a spike. When he did that, I was like, ‘Oh my goodness… I was going crazy, I couldn’t believe it.'”</p><p>Wow, while Barkley has gotten his flowers from just about everyone in the athletic world for his all-time great season in 2025, even the future Hall of Famer would have to smile knowing that James is a fan of his performance.</p><p>While fans have long wondered what James would look like on a football field, with “The King” often joking that he could have been an<a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/lakers-news-perfect-lebron-james-nfl-position-marshawn-lynch"> elite wide receiver or even tight end</a> due to his athletic excellence, it’s clear the potential NBA GOAT is a massive fans of the sport, as his recent Draft Kings spots with Kevin Hart clearly prove. Well, you've come to the right place.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">NFL</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>After saying goodbye to a <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/patriots-news-milton-williams-180-spurns-panthers-104-million-contract-new-england">half-dozen fan favorites from their Super Bowl run</a>, the Philadelphia Eagles officially became the 32nd NFL team to agree to a contract with an external free agent, signing Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon to backup Saquon Barkley in 2025.</p><p>That’s right, while the <a href="https://x.com/Schultz_Report/status/1899940403736179178" rel="noopener">exact terms of the signing aren’t yet known</a>, what is clear is that the Eagles have added a super-sized power back who can push the line of scrimmage with his bruising style, give opposing teams a different when Barkley exits the game, and most importantly of all, help out with the tush push, where his power could help to propel Jalen Hurts forward an extra yard or two.</p><p>Originally drafted in the second round out of Boston College by the Green Bay Packers in 2020, Dillon is a unique player at the running back position. At 6-foot, 247 pounds, Dillon is one of the biggest backs in the NFL, but he isn’t a one-trick pony, catching 86 of the 110 balls thrown his way over his career for 763 yards and two receiving touchdowns. Dillon has also been used in two-back situations with both Josh Jacobs and Aaron Jones, where he served as a quasi-lead blocker for his more agile teammates.</p><p>On the Eagles, Dillon immediately slots in as the Eagles’ RB2 alongside Will Shipley, adding some much-needed power where the former Clemson product is more of a traditional third-down back. While Dillon can do a little bit of everything, from catching passes to playing fullback, at worst, his biggest role will likely be as a 1B to Barkley, taking early down snaps and even whole drives when the PSU product needs a break.</p><p>What do the Eagles have planned for Dillon? Do they view him as a depth signing before this, an incredibly deep RB class, just in case things go really bad on draft day? Or do they have something specifically planned, maybe using him in two-back sets or even as a fullback competing with recently re-signed <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/howie-roseman-finds-the-eagles-a-perfect-ben-vansumeren-replacement">fullback/linebacker/special teamer Ben VanSumeren</a>? Well, you've come to the right place.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">NFL</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>After turning in one of the best, if not the best, single running back seasons in NFL history for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024, Saquon Barkley got paid, again, to the tune of a <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/eagles-news-philadelphia-saquon-barkley-historic-41-2-million-contract-extension">new two-year, $41 million extension</a>.</p><p>Now granted, Barkley was already getting paid, but now, Howie Roseman has made him the first $20 million-per-year running back, which is a big deal for not just the pride of PSU but for the market too, as there are a number of interesting young rushers who will also be hitting the market.</p><p>Discussing his new contract with reporters, Barkley noted that he’s not only excited for his bag but for <a href="https://x.com/ZBerm/status/1899201459994153072" rel="noopener">how it could impact the market too</a>, as there are young players like Bijan Robinson, Jahmyr Gibbs, and especially <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/bills-news-james-cook-celebrates-saquon-barkley-extension-free-agency">James Cook, who is looking to get paid</a>.</p><p>“For (Bijan Robinson) and (Jahmyr Gibbs)— I know (James) Cook is up, too – all those guys up to get paid, I hope they beat it. That’s how I look at it. I don’t care, ‘Is this guy going to be paid more than me?’ That’s not what this sport is about,” Saquon Barkley explained via Zach Berman. </p><p>“It’s putting the position up, and all those guys who are underneath me right now, when there’s a time, they beat it and max it out even more. And in 5 and 10 years, all those guys who are playing in high school and college right now. That’s the goal. It’s happening for every other position. I think it should happen for our position, too.” </p><p>Now granted, just because Barkley is getting paid doesn’t mean the Bills will give Cook his desired $15 million AAV contract moving forward. Sure, they just gave <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/bills-news-details-josh-allen-330-million-contract-extension">Josh Allen a $330 million extension</a> despite having nearly a half-decade left on his deal and handed out other deals to players like Greg Rousou, but there’s still a stigma about paying running backs, even if Barkley challenged that in 2024.</p><p>Will Barkley’s masterful performances change the running backs market forever? Only time will tell, but for now, he’s certainly got teams thinking about it, with players like Cook having a chance to solidify that status one way or the other with their own markets.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
