According to NBC Sports, the Raiders are now just the 13th team in the Super Bowl era to lose by 31 or more points twice in the same season. The <a href="https://x.com/JoshDubowAP/status/2000304987902267868" rel="noopener">only other team</a> to suffer that fate in the past 27 years was the 2021 Houston Texans.</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/las-vegas-raiders/raiders-news-las-vegas-putting-in-laughable-effort-struggling-eagles-offense">Las Vegas looked completely overmatched</a>, finishing with only 75 yards of total offense. It marked their second game this season with fewer than 100 yards, matching their earlier 31-0 defeat to Kansas City. The loss extended their skid to eight straight games and made it clear that something is deeply broken within the organization.</p><p>Head coach Pete Carroll is now at the center of growing speculation about his future. Reports indicate that both Carroll and the Raiders <a href="https://www.si.com/nfl/raiders/onsi/las-vegas-what-loss-eagles-confirmed-for-pete-carroll" rel="noopener">could be headed toward a mutual separation</a>, with a possible financial settlement if he “retires.” Still, the Raiders’ issues go beyond the coaching staff.</p><h2><b>Raiders continue to embarrass themselves</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Kenny-Pickett.jpg"><figcaption>Eric Hartline-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>The roster lacks talent on both sides of the ball, outside of Maxx Crosby on defense and rookie tight end Brock Bowers on offense. General manager John Spytek has failed to build a balanced roster, and minority owner Tom Brady’s involvement in football decisions has raised concerns about his influence despite his limited availability.</p><p>Las Vegas already fired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly and special teams coach Tom McMahon, but the offense remains among the league’s worst. The offensive line continues to crumble, allowing four more sacks against Philadelphia. While some of the blame lies with the staff, Carroll’s decision to keep his son Brennan as offensive line coach has also drawn scrutiny.</p><p>After twelve losses in thirteen games, the Raiders look directionless once again. Unless major changes come this offseason, they risk another wasted year of rebuilding and another chapter in one of the NFL’s most dysfunctional franchises.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Going into their Week 15 game against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Eagles had lost three consecutive games and quarterback Jalen Hurts was being questioned after a brutal performance in the team’s Monday night football loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.</p><p>The quarterback had an answer with his performance in the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/eagles-news-nick-siriannis-jalen-hurts-message-bounce-back-vs-raiders">Eagles 31-0 rout</a> of the Raiders. He completed 12 of 15 passes for 175 yards and 3 touchdowns. Hurts also ran 7 times for 39 yards and dictated the pace of the game. He bumped helmets with wideout A.J. Brown after a 4th quarter touchdown pass and that gesture seemed to release a lot of the tension that has been surrounding the team during the losing streak.</p><p>The quarterback was calm and confident after the game, and said there was <a href="https://x.com/EliotShorrParks/status/2000320936495796399">no loss of confidence</a> in his ability. “Everybody needs to remember where I come from and how I’m built,” Hurts said.</p><h2><b>Sirianni said Eagles got back to its normal personality</b></h2><p>The pressure appeared to mount on head coach Nick Sirianni as well as Hurts as the losing streak continued, but the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/eagles-news-jalen-hurts-rest-early-posting-perfect-qb-rating-raiders">Eagles head coach</a> said it was just a matter of attacking the game in the team’s normal fashion.</p><p>“We’ve been committed to playing Eagles football and doing the things we need to do to play Eagles football,” Sirianni said. “That’s tough, detailed, together, and that happens during the week. If we rode the wave of the outside noise, then you’re not able to do that.”</p><p>In addition to Hurts’ sharp performance, tight end Dallas Goedert made a significant contribution as he had 6 receptions for 70 yards including two touchdowns. Running back Saquon Barkley was not dominant, but he had 22 carries for 78 yards and a touchdown.</p><p>The Eagles recorded their first shutout since the 2018 season and they limited the Raiders to 46 rushing yards. Raiders quarterback Kenny Pickett was 15 of 25 for 64 yards with 1 interception. According to Zach Berman of The Athletic, Sirianni would say that Hurts is <a href="https://x.com/ZBerm/status/2000327376228827444" rel="noopener">“resilient”</a> and spoke about his command of the offense on Sunday.</p><p>“He’s resilient. Always has been resilient and thought he was really good running the offense, being in command out there, just making good decisions with the football, good runs. He had a good game,” Sirianni said.</p><p>It was a much-needed win for Philadelphia after losing the last three games, with many questions surrounding Hurts and his ability to be a competent quarterback. Not only did he excel, but it was a collective effort in dominating Las Vegas, with the main thing he told the team after was how good it was to get back in the win column.</p><p>“We will always keep those things in-house, but one thing was it was good to get a win,” Sirianni said.</p><p>The Eagles’ social media account would post what Sirianni said to the team, expressing having <a href="https://x.com/Eagles/status/2000342655126090004?s=20" rel="noopener">“that joy and confidence.”</a></p><p>“We had that joy and confidence. McKee came in for the final Eagles drive, running 17 plays in 11:22 of game time, but turning the ball over on downs. The backup went 3-3 for 33 yards on the drive that featured a fair share of Tank Bigsby runs.</p><p>Eagles fans had seen enough after <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/eagles-news-insider-sink-jalen-hurts-try-tanner-mckee-is-he-right">Monday night’s loss to the Chargers, with many calling for Hurts’ benching</a>. They had lost three games in a row, and the Dallas Cowboys were nipping at their heels. But a dominant win over a disastrous Raiders club should quiet the noise for a week.</p><p>The Eagles are now 9-5 with two games coming against a depleted Washington Commanders team. They have the NFC East title in their grasp and showed last year how they can turn it up a notch in the playoffs. But the concerns around the Eagles won’t go away just because of one good game. There are still serious questions about their offense, and Hurts has a lot to do to answer them.</p><p>The Eagles have a stout defense once again this season, shutting out the Raiders on home turf. It was the defense that lifted them to a championship last season, with Saquon Barkley and Hurts scoring when needed. Graham, at 37 years, 255-days old, <a href="https://x.com/john_gonoude/status/2000276478399746300" rel="noopener">became the oldest player</a> in Eagles history to record a sack, via Philadelphia director of football communications John Gonoude. He surpassed Richard Dent, who was 37 years and one-day old when he made a sack against the Atlanta Falcons in 1997.</p><p>Graham had already made plenty of history with the Eagles before coming out of retirement. He spent 15 years with the franchise, appearing in 206 games. Graham put up 487 tackles, 153 quarterback hits and 76.5 sacks. Furthermore, the defensive end was named to the Pro Bowl in 2020 and won two Super Bowls with the franchise.</p><p>His 16th season with Philadelphia hadn’t come with much noise leading into Week 15. Graham had recorded just one tackle. However, his first half performance against the Raiders has proven he still has some gas left in the tank.</p><p>With Graham leading the way defensively, the Eagles have taken a 17-0 lead into halftime. Philadelphia haven’t been necessarily explosive, as they have 165 yards of total offense. However, Las Vegas has been limited to 53 yards, which tells the entire story.</p><p>If the Eagles hold on for a win, they’ll be 9-5 on the season. They’re in prime playoff positioning as leaders of the NFC East. Graham may not have the same star power he once did. Now, Johnson is set to make his return to the team.</p><p>Johnson suffered a Lisfranc sprain four weeks ago against the Detroit Lions. Since then, the Eagles star offensive tackle hasn’t seen the field. Ian Rapoport said that Johnson will be returning to practice soon, but that <a href="https://x.com/RapSheet/status/2000174341615767905" rel="noopener">he won’t be ready</a> for their<a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/eagles-news-lane-johnson-jalen-carter-ruled-out-week-15-vs-raiders"> Week 15 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.</a></p><p>“Help on the way for the #Eagles: All-Pro OT Lane Johnson, dealing with a Lisfranc sprain, is likely to return to practice this week with eyes on facing the #Commanders (Dec 20) or #Bills (Dec 28),” Rapoport posted on X. “With the lowest pressure allowed rate this season for OTs, he looms large.”</p><p>The Eagles have lost three straight games after Johnson’s injury. Well, you've come to the right place.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Editorials</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>In Week 15 of the 2025 NFL season, the two reigning Super Bowl Championship quarterbacks will duke it out at Lincoln Financial Field when the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/updated-eagles-chargers-playoff-chances-week-14-overtime-tilt">Philadelphia Eagles take on the Las Vegas Raiders</a>.</p><p>Now granted, their workload wasn’t exactly the same in the “Big Game.” Jalen Hurts won the Super Bowl MVP after completing 17 of his 22 passing attempts for 221 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, 72 rushing yards, and a rushing touchdown. And as for Kenny Pickett, his former backup who will <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/las-vegas-raiders/raiders-news-pete-carroll-says-kenny-pickett-will-start-vs-eagles">start in Week 15 thanks to a Geno Smith shoulder injury</a>? Well, he missed his lone passing attempt and kneeled down three times for -4 yards on the way to the win, but technically they both played for the Philadelphia Eagles and have the hardware to prove it.</p><p>On paper, if there was ever a quarterback who knew the Eagles’ defense in and out in what has to be considered a trap game, it would be Pickett, as he spent a year practicing against it weekly before being traded from Philadelphia to Cleveland, and finally Sin City. However, the Raiders and Eagles really find themselves in different spots heading into their fourth-to-last games of the regular season.</p><p>For the Eagles, after suffering their third-straight loss, this game provides an opportunity to not just get back in the winner’s column but secure a few style points along the way, proving to fans, pundits, and haters alike that they can still run the ball, Jalen Hurts’ five interception game was an aberration, and, most crucially of all, the NFC East still runs through South Philly.</p><p>And as for the Raiders? Well, they have four more games to play in this first season under Pete Carroll, which will almost certainly result in some massive changes when the campaign comes to a conclusion.</p><p>While this feels like one of the least eventful games of the Week 15 slate, that doesn’t mean it won’t provide some interesting data points to ponder heading into the playoffs, as at this point, there really isn’t much regular season left to play.</p><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Kenny-Pickett-playing-for-the-Eagles.jpg"><figcaption>Geoff Burke-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><h2>Vic Fangio welcomes back Kenny Pickett with a sack party</h2><p>Heading into 2025, the Las Vegas Raiders thought they could take a page from Carroll’s old Seattle Seahawks playbook and complement his old quarterback with Beast Mode 2.0, Ashton Jeanty.</p><p>On paper, it’s a solid enough strategy, as controlling the game on the ground can help to manage the clock, open up the passing game, and provide a young team with some stability as they look to buy into a new scheme and regime. But with four games left to play in 2025, the Raiders have been the <a href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/rai/2025.htm" rel="noopener">worst rushing team in football</a>, averaging the fewest rushing yards, the fewest rushing touchdowns, and the second-fewest rushing attempts, despite Jeanty being available as an everyday starter.</p><p>Could the Raiders try to establish things on the ground in Week 15 against the Eagles? Sure, but if they can’t or find themselves behind early on, the pressure will be on for Pickett to throw his team back into the game, which is easier said than done against a Vic Fangio defense that can pick up sacks in a hurry when things start to snowball in their favor.</p><p>On the season, the Eagles only have 31 sacks, but in Week 14, Fangio earned seven of them, with Jalyx Hunt recording 2.5, Jordan Davis earning 1.5, and one-time Raiders draftee Byron Young getting 1.5 as well. The Eagles’ secondary did a solid enough job slowing down a Chargers’ receiving corps without a true No. 1, and when Fangio decided to really go all-in on getting after an injured Justin Herbert, sending Zach Baun or a hair-on-fire Nakobe deal from the second level, Los Angeles really didn’t have an answer.</p><p>While Pickett is a bit more mobile than some may think, he’s no Herbert, and his offensive line is pretty under-the-radar pretty much across the board. If the Eagles can hold up in coverage <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/eagles-news-lane-johnson-jalen-carter-ruled-out-week-15-vs-raiders">down their certified pocket collapsed Jalen Carter</a>, they have a chance to really punish Pickett if his initial reads are locked up.</p><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Eagles-2.jpg"><figcaption>Jeff Hanisch-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><h2><b>The Eagles can produce a clean game against the Raiders’ defense</b></h2><p>In Week 14, the Eagles decided to abandon their usual conservative offensive way in order to really take some really big swings against another Super Bowl-caliber team.</p><p>The results? Mixed to poor, with Jalen Hurts throwing four interceptions while coughing up another fumble, but even if his passer rating was worse than spiking the ball 40 times, the Eagles did at least attempt a few good things, including more throws across the middle of the field to AJ Brown – even if he volleyball sets it up for a pick – a fake Tush Push, and a steady diet of passes to Dallas Goedert, who was a true mis-match against the Chargers.</p><p>To their credit, the Eagles needed to mix things up because the Chargers’ defense is one of the better units in the NFL, but in Week 15, the tides have changed pretty substantially, with the Raiders allowing the 24th most points of anyone in the NFL while surrendering the 17th-most passing yards and the 16th-most rushing yards.</p><p>To their credit, the Raiders actually have some solid performers on the defensive side of the ball, with Eric Stokes, Jeremy Chinn, Charles Snowden, and Maxx Crosby among the better players at their individual positions, but the Raiders aren’t great in the middle of their defense and have question marks at CB2 and safety as well.</p><p>If the Eagles play like they did against the Chargers, they might again struggle with turnovers and see their offense stop and start, but if they use this game to install a new base offense that links their old run-heavy ways with a few more creative offensive wrinkles to keep things interesting, it could spell success for not just the final three games of the season but also the Wildcard round of the 2025 NFL Playoffs.</p><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Head-coach-Nick-Sirianni-and-Jalen-Hurts-were-not-at-their-best-in-the-Black-Friday-loss-to-the-Bears.jpg"><figcaption>Mandatory Credit: Bill Streicher-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><h2><b>The Eagles break their losing streak as the Raiders look to the Draft</b></h2><p>In the NFL, no game is a guaranteed win.</p><p>0-17 teams are almost as rare as an undefeated team, and with just two wins on the season so far, the Raiders aren’t even a lock to have the top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, with the New York Giants currently positioned to secure the top honor due to their strength of schedule if the two teams <a href="https://www.tankathon.com/nfl" rel="noopener">both lose out</a>.</p><p>At 8-5, the Eagles are rightfully heavy favorites to win in Week 15, but they were heavy favorites in their first matchup against the Giants, too, and that didn’t go very well at all. Still, considering everything going on around the team, a bounce-back win feels far more likely than loss No. 6, giving fans just a little more faith before the Bills have a chance to dash in in Week 17.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

However, the missed practices point against that theory. Johnson still hasn’t been ruled out, but it’d be a shock to see him play with no practice time in. Their opponent’s are <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/las-vegas-raiders/raiders-news-pete-carroll-loves-kenny-pickett-first-start-las-vegas">turning to backup quarterback Kenny Pickett due to Geno Smith’s shoulder and back injuries</a>. Defensively, the Raiders rank right in the middle of the pack, literally at 16th by allowing 325.8 yards per game. At least on paper, Philadelphia will heavily favored over a 2-11 Las Vegas squad.</p><p>As the Eagles get closer to the playoffs though, they need Johnson to be healthy. Their offense has gone through all sorts of chaos and drama in 2025. But at least having their right tackle back gives Philadelphia their anchor. Johnson entered the year with six Pro Bowl and two All-Pro nominations under his belt. Before suffering his injury, he <a href="https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/lane-johnson/7786" rel="noopener">ranked 18th among 82 tackles</a> with a 77.4 grade from Pro Football Focus. His 80.4 pass blocking grade ranked ninth.</p><p>The Eagles will continue to closely monitor Johnson’s injury before deciding when he should return to play.
