Thankfully, they could be getting two defensive players back soon.</p><p>The Cardinals have <a href="https://x.com/RapSheet/status/1983239844663886088" rel="noopener">opened the 21-day practice windows</a> for both BJ Ojulari and Garrett Williams, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.</p><p>Both Ojulari and Williams were on injured reserve with knee injuries. Now they are able to get back on the practice field before eventually returning for Arizona.</p><p>The Cardinals now have three weeks to decide to activate either player. They are not forced to wait an entire three weeks, though NFL teams often make good use of that time to get players back into shape.</p><p>Ojulari should provide some solid depth at off-ball linebacker for the Cardinals He could also rotate in as an edge rusher behind Josh Sweat and Darius Robinson.</p><p>Meanwhile, getting Williams back could be a much bigger deal for Arizona’s defense. According to the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, this year’s Arizona Cardinals are the first team to do that since the 2017 San Francisco 49ers. It has been a miserable way to lose and has led the Cardinals to be near the bottom in 4th quarter statistics.</p><p>The Arizona Cardinals led the Green Bay Packers by as much as 10 and hung with the Packers most of the game. However, the deciding touchdown was scored by Josh Jacobs with 1:50 left. Then, the Cardinals could not score on their last drive, ending the game with the Packers winning 27-23.</p><p>Green Bay had previously been the only team in the NFL to lead by 10+ points in every game this year. Against the Cardinals, they didn’t have the lead until two minutes left to play.</p><p>“Disappointing there. Felt like we came out ready to go, did some good things in all three phases, but ultimately not enough,” Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters after the loss.</p><p>“So, we’ve got to do more to get a win here. It’s hard, but I just told them we’re hitting a bye here on a skid, and we dug ourselves a hole. There’s no doubt about it. We’re going to have to dig ourselves out of it, and it’s going to be us that does it. So, we got to get reset. Rest up, mentally, physically, and emotionally. As a new Sunday arrives, we’ll be going over some bold predictions when the <b>Green Bay Packers (3-1-1) </b>visit the <b>Arizona Cardinals (2-4) </b>on Sunday, October 19 at 4:25 p.m. ET.</p><p>The Green Bay Packers come into this game following a 27-18 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals coming out of their Week 5 BYE. Joe Flacco aimed to lead another comeback attempt against the Packers for the second time this season, but the Green Bay defense held strong through the fourth quarter to get the win. RB Josh Jacobs was the catalyst for their success with two touchdowns on the ground, moving into second-place for the league’s most touchdowns.</p><p>The Arizona Cardinals come in following a tough 31-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Despite the L on their record, quarterback Jacoby Brissett managed to keep the Cardinals competitive without Kyler Murray out there and covering the +5.5-point spread set for them. This week, they’ll be the underdogs once again looking to break their four-game losing streak. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/arizona-cardinals/kyler-murray-marvin-harrison-jr-limited-before-cardinals-week-7-clash">Kyler Murray remains ‘questionable’ ahead of this one</a>, so we could see Brissett start another game in relief.</p><p><a href="https://sportsbook.fanduel.com/navigation/nfl">Sportsbooks are billing</a> the Green Bay Packers as 6.5-point betting favorites on the road. What is even more impressive is that Jacobs has been able to do so with one fewer game played given the Packers’ Week 5 BYE.</p><p>Against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Packers leaned heavily on their lead back with 18 carries, two touchdowns, and a great receiving game with five catches for 57 yards. Right now, he’s their most reliable option from inside the 20-yard line and he’s been able to convert on more attempts than not. With the Colts facing a staunch Chargers’ defense, don’t be surprised if Josh Jacobs can take the lead or tie for most rushing touchdowns.</p><p><b>Cardinals’ Bam Knight earns RB1 role</b></p><p>The Arizona Cardinals’ backfield has been devastated all season. First came the season-ending injury to feature back James Connor. As backup Trey Benson finally began settling into his new role, he landed on injured reserve with a knee injury. Then, of course, came the fumble on the goal line from suspected RB1 Emari Demercado, effectively killing any changes at the starting role.</p><p>Bam Knight saw his most active game of the season in Week 6 with 11 carries for 34 yards and a touchdown. He also caught a pass for 20 yards and was clearly the more explosive playmaker opposite backfield mate Michael Carter, who logged nine carries and two catches last game. I expect Bam Knight to be much more active in the offense during this game, ultimately marking his role as the starting back while Trey Benson is out.</p><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Arizona-Cardinals-running-back-Bam-Knight-20-returns-a-kickoff-against-the-Tennessee-Titans.jpg"><figcaption>© Matt Kartozian-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p><b>The Packers’ defense will create more than one turnover</b></p><p>While this Green Bay Packers defensive unit has been great in keeping teams out of the end zone this season, they’re notably ranked second-worst in the NFL in takeaways with just two this season. Safety Xavier McKinney had more individual interceptions than most teams up to this point last season, so this is certainly uncharted territory for the Packers’ as of late.</p><p>For a defense that’s been the talk of the NFL with their addition of edge rusher Micah Parsons, the Packers’ defense is bound for their breakthrough performance. If veteran Jacoby Brissett sees the start, expect the Packers’ corners to be ballhawking all throughout this one.</p><p><b>The Arizona Cardinals will lead at halftime</b></p><p>While the betting odds are significantly skewed towards the Packers in this game, they’ve had a history of starting slow over the last two seasons. Furthermore, quarterback Jordan Love made an early mistake with an interception against the Bengals, so the Arizona Cardinals could become competitive early-on if they’re able to force a turnover or two out of the Packers.</p><p>The Packers have also allowed teams like the Browns and Bengals to hang around late in the game, so unless we see a completely dominant effort from Green Bay in all three phases of the game, expect the Cardinals to hang around and threaten with a tight margin.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

They started the season at 2-0, but have lost four straight and are dealing with injuries on offense. Kyler Murray is dealing with an ankle sprain, while <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/arizona-cardinals/cardinals-news-marvin-harrison-jr-concussion-protocol-big-hit-colts" rel="noopener">Marvin Harrison Jr. is dealing with a concussion</a>. It seems like both will be game-time decisions before this Sunday.</p><p>Arizona Cardinals team reporter Darren Urban reported that both were seen working at Friday’s practice but were still limited. Marvin Harrison Jr. <a href="https://x.com/Cardschatter/status/1979245542967513351">was seen no longer wearing the no-contact jersey</a>, which should spark some hope for Cardinals fans, but <a href="https://x.com/Cardschatter/status/1979219305591115907" rel="noopener">he is still in concussion protocol</a>. Kyler Murray w<a href="https://x.com/Cardschatter/status/1979245542967513351">as seen working with the scout team</a>, while Jacoby Brissett worked with the first team offense.</p><p>Marvin Harrison Jr.’s injury status is still in the air because he participated only limitedly in Wednesday and Thursday’s practice, but was a full go on Friday. He will most likely enter Sunday with a questionable status. The NFL has a five-step clearance plan for players to be eligible to come back from concussion protocol, and it seems like Harrison is in step five and on the cusp of being cleared, but time will tell.</p><p>Head coach Jonathan Gannon said when asked about Harrison, “Good, working through the protocol. “</p><p>“Whatever the protocol says, that’s what he’ll do.”</p><p>While good news appears on the horizon for Marvin Harrison Jr., there is much uncertainty about Kyler Murray’s status. Murray was seen going through practice, but not with the first-team offense; that job belonged to Jacoby Brissett. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/arizona-cardinals/cardinals-should-stick-with-jacoby-brissett-even-when-kyler-murray-gets-healthy" rel="noopener">He played well in Murray’s relief last week</a>.</p><p>Murray participated in practice only on Wednesday and Thursday. He was limited again on Friday so that Murray will enter Sunday’s game with questionable status.</p><p>Jonathan Gannon addressed the media on Friday, discussed the roster injuries, and said that the next 48 hours will be key for players like Murray.</p><p>“Injury front, Emari [Demercado] is not going to make it, and we will not activate Walt [Nolen]. Everybody else, we’ll see how it goes in the next 48 hours,” Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters Friday morning.</p><p>“Good. Good. That goes without saying. But in-season management is just as important. Players get injured, and fantasy rosters get wrecked with bye weeks. There is no shortage of reasons why the more active fantasy managers tend to do better consistently.</p><p>NFL Week 7 is nearly upon us. This week, the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens are on bye. That means Derrick Henry and James Cook are unavailable, leaving fantasy rosters with a gaping hole at running back.</p><p>Additionally, we have already seen stud running backs go down with injury. That opened up opportunities for active managers to snag a handcuff that was left on waivers.</p><p>Take Rico Dowdle, for example. He was rostered in just under 10 percent of leagues when Carolina Panthers tailback Chuba Hubbard <a href="https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/10/17/panthers-injury-updates-chuba-hubbard-week-7-friday/86747994007/" rel="noopener">went down with a calf strain</a>. Active fantasy managers scooped up <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/carolina-panthers/rico-dowdles-2-week-panthers-explosion-is-more-than-just-a-flash-in-the-pan">Dowdle and have been rewarded handsomely</a>. He has rushed for almost 400 yards in two games for the Panthers.</p><p>Even though there are no obvious players to target this week, that doesn’t mean there aren’t players with streaming appeal. So, let’s get into our NFL Week 7 fantasy football running backs worth streaming.</p><h2><b>Chargers RB Kimani Vidal</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Chargers-RB-Kimani-Vidal.jpg"><figcaption>© Rich Storry-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>Two weeks ago, Los Angeles Chargers running back <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/los-angeles-chargers/chargers-news-omarion-hampton-land-injured-reserve-ankle-injury">Omarion Hampton was placed on injured reserve</a>. Reports out of Los Angeles had Hassan Haskins expected to take over lead duties.</p><p>So much for that.</p><p>Kimani Vidal dominated touches in the Chargers’ backfield. He rushed 18 times for 124 yards and caught three passes for 14 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Haskins barely got on the field.</p><p>Vidal was likely scooped up in waivers, if not last week, definitely this week. On paper, Los Angeles faces a tough matchup for running backs. The Indianapolis Colts allow the seventh-fewest fantasy points to the position this season. That may create some trepidation from fantasy managers to plug him into their lineups.</p><p>But offensive tackle Joe Alt is back at practice. Jim Harbaugh still wants to run the football, and Vidal is clearly the guy. Plug and play Vidal without any concern.</p><h2><b>Texans’ Nick Chubb</b></h2><p>Fantasy managers who drafted Joe Mixon must be annoyed. The team has been so secretive about their starting running back. It left fantasy managers reluctantly drafting Nick Chubb in the middle-to-late rounds.</p><p>Chubb struggled to get much going the first few weeks, prompting talk of Woody Marks taking over the job. Even Texans’ head coach DeMeco Ryans talks up their rookie tailback. Marks was supposed to get as many touches as he could handle in Week 6.</p><p>Then the game happened.</p><p>Chubb once again played as the starter and, for the second time in five games, found the end zone. The matchup this week is far from ideal.</p><p>The Seattle Seahawks have been among the best rush defenses in the league. But this is a play more on touchdown equity than anything. For those in a pinch, you could do worse than streaming Chubb.</p><h2><b>Cowboys rookie RB Jaydon Blue</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Cowboys-RB-Jaydon-Blue.jpg"><figcaption>© Vincent Carchietta-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>This one is a bit of a dart throw, but there is reason to back it up.</p><p>Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Jaydon Blue lit it up during training camp and the preseason. That led to him being drafted in the later rounds in fantasy football drafts nationwide. But no one could have foreseen Javonte Williams doing what he has done thus far.</p><p>Williams is providing legit RB2 numbers consistently and is a must-start.</p><p>But Blue has some sneaky streaming appeal this week, especially with <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/cowboys-news-miles-sanders-miss-rest-season-knee-ankle-injury">Miles Sanders now on IR</a>. The Cowboys face the Washington Commanders in what should be a shootout. Vegas has the over/under for this game listed at 54.5, and at some sportsbooks, even higher. There is going to be a lot of scoring in this game.</p><p>The Commanders’ rush defense is fresh off getting gashed by D’Andre Swift and the Chicago Bears. If you are in a tough spot at running back, Blue offers fantasy managers a legit path to double digits.</p><h2><b>Cardinals Running Backs</b></h2><p>Our final entry is not a single player, but a pair of teammates.</p><p>Fantasy football is a game of opportunity. You always want to position yourself where the players in your lineup are getting as many touches as possible.</p><p>The Arizona Cardinals’ running back room has been decimated by injury, creating opportunity. First, James Conner suffered a season-ending injury. Not long after, talented backup Trey Benson got hurt and is on injured reserve.</p><p>Both Michael Carter and Bam Knight offer some streaming appeal. They will very likely split touches this week. But each should touch the ball 10+ times in their game against the Green Bay Packers. It may not be ideal, but both provide opportunity.</p><p>In PPR leagues, Carter has slightly higher upside with his pass game usage.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
