If you couldn't tell, he's from Chicago.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">NFL</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>The NFL initially suspended Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Trysten Hill <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/cowboys-news-cowboys-trysten-hill-gets-lengthy-suspension-after-fight-with-raiders/" rel="noopener">two games</a> for punching Las Vegas Raiders guard John Simpson on the field after a heartbreaking loss on Thanksgiving. Hill appealed the suspension and has seen it reduced to just a single game, with appeals officer Derrick Brooks making that announcement on Tuesday, <a href="https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/11/30/trysten-hills-suspension-reduced-to-one-game-on-appeal/" rel="noopener">per PFT’s Charean Williams.</a></p><p><a href="https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1464258485189812224" rel="noopener">Initial reporting</a> suggested Hill wasn’t going to be suspended at all, but the NFL came out days later and announced Monday the two-game penalty with this explanation:</p><blockquote>“You both engaged in a verbal chest-to-chest confrontation which <a href="https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/11/29/nfl-suspends-cowboys-trysten-hill-two-games-for-hitting-raiders-john-simpson-after-game/">you escalated</a> by throwing an open hand punch to his facemask, forcible enough to cause your opponent’s helmet to come off.”</blockquote><p><i><b>*Watch the NFL LIVE with <a href="https://www.fubo.tv/lp/football/?irad=356362&amp;irmp=492408" rel="noopener">fuboTV (click for free trial)</a>*</b></i></p><p>But now with this new ruling, Hill will only miss Thursday night’s matchup against the New Orleans Saints instead of that game and Week 14 against the Washington Football Team. Hill will be able to return to the Cowboys on Friday once his suspension is complete.</p><p>Dallas needs all the help it can get moving forward. After starting the season 6-1, the Cowboys have since lost three of their last four games to drop to 7-4. While they’re still in firm control of a bad NFC East, they don’t want this slide to continue given their Super Bowl aspirations.</p><p>Dallas has a prime opportunity to get a big win over a struggling Saints team going through quarterback problems. The suspension will start on Thursday night when the Cowboys take on the New Orleans Saints. This is another tough blow for the Cowboys. It seems like things are going <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/cowboys-news-mike-mccarthy-tests-positive-for-covid-19-ahead-of-thursday-night-game-vs-saints/">downhill</a> for them recently.</p><p>Dallas has lost three of their last four games. Some are wondering if this is the inevitable Cowboy crash that always happens. In three of the past four weeks, they have losses to the Las Vegas Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Denver Broncos.</p><p>Dallas sits comfortably and are two and a half games ahead of the second-place Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East. They will look to get back on track this week in a tough setting as they are going to New Orleans to take on the Saints. Playing in New Orleans, especially on a Thursday night, is never an easy task. The Cowboys better come ready to play otherwise they will have their fourth loss in the past five weeks.</p><p>Luckily for Dallas, they have an easy schedule coming up after this game against the Saints. Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph and Raiders safety Roderic Teamer were ejected after getting into <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl-news-cowboys-raiders-trade-jabs-amid-thanksgiving-scuffle/">a scuffle that very nearly cleared the bench</a>. It’s not the best look for a nice, wholesome Thanksgiving game.</p><p>Apparently, though, this saga didn’t end after the game. A keen-eyed viewer on Twitter, @Mr4thandLong, <a href="https://twitter.com/Mr4thAndLong/status/1464104778502451204">caught a moment</a> between Cowboys defensive tackle Trysten Hill and Raiders guard John Simpson. All of a sudden, Trysten Hill, the Cowboys’ long-time DT, threw a punch at the Raiders’ guard. Simpson and Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby immediately stepped in to confront Hill about that punch, which sent Simpson’s helmet flying off his head.</p><p>Hill’s punch was likely a result of the frustration building up since the beginning of the game. The Cowboys were plagued with penalty calls all game, some of which the team felt was undeserved. Dallas cornerback Anthony Brown was called for four penalties alone. While the frustration obviously doesn’t justify the punch thrown by Hill, it does explain what could’ve led him to do his actions.</p><p>Expect the league to hand out fines for this post-game fight between the Cowboys and the Raiders. Fighting and throwing punches has no place in the NFL, or in any league for that matter. It’s on the players to control their tempers and channel their emotions into the game. As for Hill, it remains to be seen if the Cowboys will issue their own penalties on their own player.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
