Ultimately, that means Tyler Huntley and Cooper Rush will fall on the Ravens quarterback depth chart. NFL insider Ari Meirov reported some <a href="https://x.com/MySportsUpdate/status/1981776206010671409" rel="noopener">additional news about the situation.</a></p><p>“Ravens HC John Harbaugh said QB Tyler ‘Snoop’ Huntley is now the backup QB, meaning Cooper Rush is the QB3,” Meirov reported.</p><p>Rush has started the last two games for the Ravens since <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/ravens-news-lamar-jackson-chiefs-hamstring-injury-baltimores-woes-worsen">Jackson sustained a hamstring injury</a> in a 37-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. However, the results have not been the best. Rush went 14 for 20 with 179 yards and no touchdowns and three interceptions against the Houston Texans in a 44-10 blowout loss at home. Then, he went 11 for 19 with just 72 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception against the Los Angeles Rams.</p><p>Jackson logged a full practice, but <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/ravens-news-john-harbaugh-isnt-ready-commit-lamar-jacksons-return-vs-bears">Harbaugh did not commit to starting him</a> just yet, leaving open the possibility he might not play. Assuming Jackson returns, the Ravens’ quarterback depth chart changes a little. But this time, the team is promoting Huntley to quarterback 2 after Rush’s performance.</p><p>The Ravens have struggled mightily this season, even with Jackson in the lineup. They were 1-2 when they went into Arrowhead Stadium to play the Chiefs. Currently, they are 1-5 and sitting last in the AFC North while trailing the Pittsburgh Steelers by three games for the division lead.</p><p>The good news is that the Ravens have played their division only once this season, a 41-17 rout of the Cleveland Browns in Week 2. With <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/ravens-news-lamar-jackson-out-cooper-rush-start-week-6-vs-rams">Lamar Jackson still sidelined with a hamstring injury</a>, Cooper Rush has stepped in as the starting quarterback, and the offense has been out of sorts.</p><p>With just 3 points so far in their game against the Rams, Rush <a href="https://x.com/MikeGarafolo/status/1977454104705380718" rel="noopener">was benched</a> for Tyler Huntley, someone who is familiar with the Ravens and their offense.</p><p>Hopefully, he’s able to give the Ravens some much-needed momentum on that side of the ball. As far as Jackson’s health goes, it seems like there is <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/ravens-rumors-baltimore-hopeful-lamar-jackson-injury-outlook">optimism surrounding his return soon</a>, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.</p><p>“Here’s the good news for the Ravens,” Pelissero said on Sunday on NFL Network. “My understanding is that this is not a long-term injury for Lamar Jackson. He has been in the building rehabbing. The team is at least hopeful that Lamar will be back after next week’s bye.”</p><p>Jackson is the engine that keeps the Ravens going, and his ability to use his arm and legs to make plays is what makes them dynamic on offense. Since he’s been sidelined, Rush has only been able to make plays in the passing game, and that hasn’t been enough for them to win games.</p><p>Coming into their matchup against the Rams, the Ravens are 1-4, and their playoff chances get slimmer after every loss. With the organization finalizing its quarterback situation with Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders, Cleveland let Huntley go ahead of the regular season. Now, it appears Huntley is reuniting with the Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson.</p><p>Reports indicate that Huntley, who is 27 years old, is heading back to Baltimore and <a href="https://x.com/mzenitz/status/1960754964940333125" rel="noopener">will be on the practice squad</a> to begin the 2025-26 season, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports. Tyler Huntley signs almost immediately after visiting the Ravens’ facilities on Wednesday.</p><p>“This is now a done deal: The Ravens are signing quarterback Snoop Huntley to their practice squad, sources tell CBS Sports. A return to Baltimore for Huntley, who previously played there from 2020-23.”</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/ravens-rumors-baltimore-eyeing-reunion-with-lamar-jackson-pro-bowl-backup">Tyler Huntley previously played for the Ravens</a> for four seasons. His efforts in the 2022-23 season earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl. Last season was the first time in his career that he played for a different organization, as Huntley played five games for the Miami Dolphins. He ended his time with the Dolphins throwing for 829 passing yards and three touchdowns while owning a 64.7% completion percentage.</p><p>The Ravens bring back a familiar face to the practice squad. There is a chance the team calls him up to the active roster at some point during the regular season. But for now, it appears that veteran quarterback Cooper Rush will play the backup role behind Lamar Jackson. Although Rush doesn’t have the same athletic skills as Jackson or Tyler Huntley, the coaching staff seems to like having him be the backup.</p><p>Baltimore will begin the 2025-26 campaign with a Week 1 opener with a Sunday night matchup against the Buffalo Bills. When fans found out about the change, so did Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill. He explained his process postgame when finding out <a href="https://x.com/Marcel_LJ/status/1873529262692860340" rel="noopener">who would start</a> against the Cleveland Browns.</p><p>“My mindset all week, I took reps with both of the guys,” Hill said via Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN on X. “In this league, you’ve got to always have a next guy up mentality.”</p><p>Luckily for Miami, they didn’t take a step back offensively with Huntley under center. He completed 22 of 26 passes for 225 yards and a passing touchdown. Huntley also had 52 rushing yards and a score. The Dolphins diced the Browns’ defense all game, and especially Hill.</p><p>He had his first 100+ yard receiving game since their overtime win against the New York Jets. It also pushes Hill closer to his fifth consecutive season with over 1,000 receiving yards. Most importantly, it pushes Miami one step closer to securing an AFC Wild Card spot. The <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl-news-how-broncos-loss-bengals-impacts-afc-wild-card-race">Dolphins will have to beat out the Denver Broncos</a> and have them lose to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 18.</p><h2><b>Tyreek Hill’s mentality about Tyler Huntley has been a synopsis of the Dolphins all season</b></h2><p>The Dolphins have dealt with their fair share of quarterback injuries. After Tagovailoa had a scary concussion earlier in the season, he’s been persistent in getting back on the field. While he’s been lethal on the field when he’s playing, preserving his long-term health is key. Luckily, the quarterback rotation has been solid this season.</p><p>Huntley has filled the role beautifully and had Miami not worrying about the offense on Sunday. Although Tagovailoa could’ve likely played on Sunday, Hill explained as to <a href="https://x.com/OmarKelly/status/1873530179265638856" rel="noopener">why the starting quarterback was out</a>. “This was the staff protecting a player from himself,” Hill said via Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald.</p><p>Although the 8-8 record isn’t appealing, they’re still second in the AFC East. After the Buffalo Bills clinched the division weeks prior, Miami has a chance to sneak in. With Hill and Tagovailoa, they have a dynamic offense that is tough to stop when it’s firing on all cylinders. However, if they do make the final Wild Card spot, it could be a 2024 rematch.</p><p>If the Dolphins beat their Wild Card opponent, they’ll have to prepare to play the Chiefs once again. Although that’s not the main prerogative of the team, it makes matters more difficult. Despite that, they could catch heat at the right time if the Broncos lose and Miami wins its Week 18 matchup.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
