The team will attempt to get back on track against Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants in Week 9.</p><p>San Francisco’s defensive coordinator Robert Saleh is making his return to MetLife Stadium. And the former New York Jets head coach is impressed with the Giants’ rookie QB. So impressed that he doesn’t blame Brian Daboll for his <a href="https://x.com/MySportsUpdate/status/1983987681807000006" rel="noopener">Week 6 faux pas</a> involving the league’s concussion protocol.</p><p>“[Dart’s] uber talented. I understand why Daboll went to the blue tent, I probably would have went too. I mean the kid’s good man. He’s a really, really, really good kid. I think New York hit it on this one. Big time,” Saleh said, per The 33rd Team’s Ari Meirov.</p><h2><b>49ers’ DC impressed by Jaxson Dart ahead of Week 9 clash</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Jaxson-Dart_90be71.jpg"><figcaption>Brad Penner-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>The Giants scored a huge victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6. However, Dart took a big hit in the third quarter and was required to be evaluated for a concussion. But it was a costly mistake. The <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-york-giants/giants-news-new-york-jaxson-dart-concussion-protocol-violation-fine">NFL fined the Giants $200,000</a> for the violation. Daboll got hit with a $100k fine and even Cam Skattebo was penalized $15,000, as the running back also checked in on Dart.</p><p>Still, Saleh gets it. “[Dart’s] dynamic, he’s decisive, he’s accurate. He’s been a joy to watch studying his tape over the last…  five starts now… This kid, he’s gonna be special,” he said.</p><p>Saleh is tasked with taming the Giants’ offense ahead of New York’s matchup with a battered 49ers squad. San Francisco is dealing with injuries on both sides of the ball. However, the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/49ers-news-san-francisco-about-to-get-much-needed-injury-reinforcements">49ers expect defensive reinforcements</a> soon.</p><p>Despite the injuries, including <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/49ers-news-nick-bosa-torn-acl-vs-cardinals-done-season">Nick Bosa’s season-ending ACL tear</a>, Saleh has transformed the 49ers’ defense in 2025. San Francisco had the 29th-ranked scoring defense last season, but the unit is eighth-best in the league through eight weeks under Saleh.</p><p>The veteran coach resumed his role as the 49ers’ DC this season after a raw deal with the Jets. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/49ers-news-robert-saleh-head-coach-endorsement-san-francisco-players">Saleh should get another head coaching opportunity</a>. However, one of those players is not likely to be outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux.</p><p>NFL insider Mike Garofalo of the NFL Network reported that the Giants have no interest in trading Thibodeaux or other key members of the defense that they believe will be productive the rest of the 2025 season and in the years to come. He was drafted with the No. 5 pick overall in 2022 out of Oregon. Through the first 8 games of the season, Thibodeaux has recorded 28 tackles, 2.5 sacks, five tackles for loss and one pass defensed.</p><p>The 6-5, 258-pound linebacker had a big season in 2023 when he had 50 tackles, 11.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, four passes defensed, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.</p><p>The Giants have been struggling most of the season on the defensive side of the ball.  They rank 27th in points allowed as they are giving up 26.9 points per game, and they are also generous in yards allowed. They are giving up 382.4 yards per game to their opponents.</p><h2><b>Giants hoping to climb, but have struggled through first half of the season</b></h2><p>The Giants were able to create some excitement earlier in the season as rookies Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo gave them a lift with their energy and overall play. The Giants registered a pair of notable home victories over the Los Angeles Chargers and the Philadelphia Eagles, but a brutal injury suffered by Skattebo has taken much of the steam out of their attack.</p><p>New York is in last place in the NFC East with a 2-6 record, and painful road losses to the Saints and Broncos have drained much of their energy.</p><p>Dart is viewed as their quarterback of the future as he has supplanted Russell Wilson. Dart has completed 85 of 142 passes for 984 yards with 8 TDs and 3 interceptions. He has also run for 195 yards and 4 touchdowns.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

That could change at any given moment before 4 p.m. ET on Nov. 4. A blockbuster deal could be right around the corner, so check out the gallery to see three huge trades that would rock the football world that could happen before deadline day.</p><h2><b>Chris Olave joins the Broncos</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Chris-Olave-1.jpg"><figcaption>Matthew Hinton-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p><b>Denver Broncos receive:</b> Chris Olave</p><p><b>New Orleans Saints receive:</b> 2026 second-round pick, 2026 third-round pick, 2027 third-round pick, 2027 seventh-round pick (via Saints)</p><p>The <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-orleans-saints/saints-news-new-orleans-acquires-wr-trade-broncos">Denver Broncos traded a receiver to the New Orleans Saints</a> before the start of the season. In hindsight, securing a fourth-round pick for Devaughn Vele was quite an impressive move for the Broncos. Vele has done next to nothing for the Saints this year, and the team could be looking to recoup some draft capital as they are likely to finish as one of the worst teams in the league this year.</p><p>Another Broncos-Saints receiver trade could be on the table. Reports suggest that <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/nfl-rumors-saints-wr-linked-broncos-trade-but-its-not-chris-olave">Denver is interested in Rashid Shaheed</a>, but perhaps they can pull off a move for Chris Olave instead. Shaheed is a pure burner. While Bo Nix and his receivers have missed on a number of deep balls this season, they already have a great speed demon in Marvin Mims. Olave would bring much more to the table for the Broncos.</p><p>Olave surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first two fully healthy seasons. The Broncos have one of the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/nfl-stories/ranking-top-10-nfl-defensive-units-for-2025-season">best defensive units in football</a>, but by bringing in Olave to pair with Mims, Troy Franklin, Evan Engram, and Courtland Sutton, the offense would be almost as scary. Despite all the hype surrounding Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye, it is Nix who has the best numbers of his sophomore quarterback peers through 1.5 seasons. He could use one more weapon, though, and the Broncos should try to swing a deal for Olave instead of Shaheed.</p><p>Olave’s concussion history and the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-orleans-saints/saints-news-tyler-shough-not-fun-admission-starter">Saints’ decision to promote Tyler Shough</a> to the starting quarterback position are the two biggest things that could prevent this trade from happening. New Orleans may want to ensure their rookie signal caller has weapons around him while he learns the ropes of starting at quarterback. They were again hit hard by the injury bug when <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-york-giants/giants-news-cam-skattebo-suffered-2-other-injuries-besides-dislocated-ankle">Cam Skattebo dislocated his ankle</a>. The rookie running back had become the heart and soul of a Giants team that seemed revitalized ever since Jaxson Dart took over as the starting quarterback.</p><p>Skattebo’s injury is believed to be worse than initially thought, and it is now believed that it could significantly impact his future outlook. The Giants should trade for Breece Hall, who has been involved in New York Jets’ trade rumors for quite some time now. Hall is still one of the best running backs in the NFL, and he’d give the Giants’ offense a boost while simultaneously taking the pressure off of Skattebo to return too quickly.</p><p>Upon Skattebo’s return, he and Hall would form an impressive and cohesive duo. Hall is an elite pass-catching running back and great speed threat, whereas Skattebo is more of a bruiser who runs through defenders. Injuries to running backs are common, and having the insurance of two good ones makes sense for the Giants.</p><p>Hall is still just 24 years old. The career lifespan of an NFL running back is relatively short, but Hall is young enough that he’d be worth paying a pretty penny for. The Jets like what they have in Braelon Allen, and they don’t seem to have much interest in re-signing Hall. The Giants have the future cap space to give the Iowa State product a lucrative contract when his current deal expires at season’s end.</p><h2><b>The Steelers trade for Aaron Rodgers’ successor</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Kyler-Murray_f998aa.jpg"><figcaption>Joe Rondone/The Republic / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p><b>Pittsburgh Steelers receive:</b> Kyler Murray</p><p><b>Arizona Cardinals receive:</b> 2026 first-round pick, 2026 fourth-round pick</p><p>After six quarterbacks were taken in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft and two more first-round signal callers were selected in 2025, there aren’t many teams that clearly need a long-term answer at quarterback. The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of those teams, though, as Aaron Rodgers could very well retire after this season.</p><p>Rodgers is already 41 years old, and although he has looked good for his age, the Steelers are still in the bottom five in passing yards (1,501) this season. The Steelers will finish out the year with Rodgers, but they should be looking to the future to find who will be the next quarterback of the team.</p><p>Unlike some of the other quarterback-needy teams, the Steelers won’t have a high draft pick where they can select a premier QB prospect. Pittsburgh seems poised to yet again finish above .500, and therefore, they will likely miss out on drafting players such as Fernando Mendoza, Dante Moore, and LaNorris Sellers. Pittsburgh could try to pull off a blockbuster trade for Kyler Murray, though.</p><p>The former first overall pick hasn’t quite lived up to his potential, and now that the Arizona Cardinals have lost five straight games, they might become <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/nfl-stories/2025-nfl-trade-deadline-which-teams-buyers-sellers">NFL trade deadline sellers</a>. It is unclear if they are ready to move on from Murray, but that is an idea that has been floated around in the past. For the Steelers, Murray is still just 28 years old. He is an excellent scrambler who has a great arm, and he has looked like an above-average quarterback plenty of times throughout the course of his career.</p><p>The Steelers have been in somewhat of a quarterback purgatory for years now, and Murray might be the player who can get them out of it. It would be a weird move, considering he would have to sit on the bench for the rest of the season. Murray is under contract through 2028, though, so the Steelers should pounce on the chance to get him if he is made available.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Sack numbers aside, “Sexy Dexy” has 20 tackles through eight games and snagged the first interception of his career in Week 4. New York is 14th in sacks and 11th in pressures with 19 and 63, respectively. Most of that credit goes to edge-rusher Brian Burns, who is tied with Myles Garrett with a league-high 10 sacks.</p><p>Lawrence’s dominance directly gives his teammates opportunities to thrive. Burns has been an All-Pro-level pass-rusher for years, but he is certainly elevated by lining up next to Lawrence.</p><p>As teams double Lawrence on nearly every snap, they are not as capable of bringing help to the edges. As a result, Burns only gets <a href="https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-chip-and-double-team-rates-ranking-the-defensive-linemen-who-overcome-extra-attention" rel="noopener">doubled on 31.9 percent</a> of his pass-rush snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. The Giants had brought Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, two veteran quarterbacks, in during free agency to mentor Dart. After starting the year 0-3 with Wilson, Dart was inserted as the Giants’ starting quarterback.</p><p>They have not looked back since. Dart has led them to two wins in five starts. He came out of the gate firing, beating the then-undefeated Los Angeles Chargers. Two weeks later, they beat the Philadelphia Eagles.</p><p>However, the Giants are still 2-6. They had a big collapse against the Denver Broncos in Week 7 before losing to the Eagles in Week 8.</p><p>So far, Dart has 984 passing yards and eight touchdowns to three interceptions. With that said, whoever plays quarterback should be looking at the Hall-of-Fame tight end for touchdowns. George Kittle will score for the second straight week against the Giants.</p><p>In Week 8, the Giants allowed two touchdowns to Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert. Kittle will be studying that tape and ready to feast in this big game. The 49ers lost to the Texans despite Kittle and backup tight end Jake Tonges both scoring touchdowns. They cannot afford to lose another, so expect to see Kittle in the end zone on Sunday.</p><h2><b>The 49ers win on the road</b></h2><p>The 49ers will beat the Giants at MetLife Stadium to move to 6-3 on the season. The 49ers will win this game, no matter who the quarterback is.</p><p>The 49ers are in one of the best divisions in football, with both the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks off to hot starts. A 1:00 p.m. Eastern start for a West Coast team is always tough, but San Francisco knows it needs this win. Ciara had a stepson from her past relationship with Future, but she has several children with Wilson as well.</p><p>Currently, Wilson is the backup quarterback for the Giants. He was brought in during free agency, along with Winston, to battle for the starting job. The Giants also drafted Jaxson Dart out of Ole Miss in the first round of the NFL Draft, and he is currently their starter.</p><p>Before his benching, Wilson threw for 786 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. His best game of the season came in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys.</p><p>While the Giants lost, Wilson threw for 450 yards and three touchdowns. Not only did the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-york-giants/giants-news-giants-jaxson-dart-drops-embarrassing-truth-bomb-on-loss-to-eagles">Giants lose to a division rival in Week 9</a>, but they <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-york-giants/giants-news-ny-officially-places-cam-skattebo-on-ir">lost rookie Cam Skattebo for the season</a>. Now it appears that Skattebo’s injury situation is even worse than it appeared on Sunday.</p><p>Skattebo <a href="https://x.com/RapSheet/status/1983506784988909744" rel="noopener">suffered more than one brutal injury</a> during Sunday’s loss to the Eagles, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.</p><p>In addition to <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-york-giants/giants-news-cam-skattebo-nasty-injury-teammates-distraught">his ugly ankle injury</a>, Skattebo was also dealt a fibula fracture and a deltoid ligament fracture.</p><p>Skattebo had surgery right away on Sunday to close the wound, and it was reportedly a success. Now the rehab process can begin and the Giants hope to have Skattebo back for the team’s offseason program in the spring.</p><p>Rapoport added that Skattebo’s injury has a <a href="https://x.com/RapSheet/status/1983514754074148991" rel="noopener">four-to-six month recovery window</a>. That means, even on the long end, the rookie running back should be ready to roll for OTAs and minicamp in 2026.</p><p>Hopefully Skattebo can pick up right where he left off during his sophomore season.</p><h2><b>Giants offense now devastated by multiple season-ending injuries</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Giants-1_bbe04c.jpg"><figcaption>Brad Penner-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>Skattebo’s injury could not have come at a worse time for the Giants.</p><p>New York’s offense changed once Skattebo became an established starter. The rookie logged <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/4696981/cam-skattebo" rel="noopener">101 carries for 410 rushing yards</a> and five touchdowns. He also contributed 24 receptions for 207 receiving yards and two touchdowns through the air.</p><p>The Giants can lean on Tyrone Tracy Jr. with Skattebo out, but their offense will certainly be less dangerous.</p><p>New York was already without superstar receiver Malik <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-york-giants/giants-news-malik-nabers-have-surgery-torn-acl-meniscus">Nabers, who suffered season-ending ACL and meniscus injuries</a> earlier this month.</p><p>Now the Giants are down their two best offensive weapons heading into the back half of the 2025 season.</p><p>That puts New York into an interesting position, especially considering Jaxson Dart is in his rookie year. Perhaps the Giants attempt to make a trade to add talent in a desperate attempt to rescue their season. Or they could try to stick out the rest of the season with what they’ve already got.</p><p>Either way, big changes could be coming to New York this offseason if the Giants cannot put together some more wins.</p><p>Next up for the Giants is a Week 9 matchup against the 49ers.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

The days since Eli Manning retired have taken a serious toll on this team. The team has struggled for the most part, but this season, things really started to elevate until it ultimately crashed extremely hard.</p><p>In Week 4, the Giants hosted the Los Angeles Chargers. At 0-3, head coach Brian Daboll had to make a change at quarterback. Jaxson Dart replaced Russell Wilson, and the Giants upset the Chargers in that game. However, star wide receiver Malik Nabers injured his knee and found out after the game that he had torn his ACL. The Giants, without Nabers, would later upset the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football. 17 days later, the Giants and Eagles met again.</p><p>Midway through the game, the Giants experienced another brutal blow. Rookie running back Cam Skattebo dislocated his ankle while being tackled. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-york-giants/giants-news-cam-skattebo-nasty-injury-teammates-distraught">Skattebo was immediately rushed to the hospital</a>.</p><p>The Giants have now lost two major weapons for rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. Injuries are the worst, and it will be difficult for the Giants to overcome this in 2025. Both Nabers and Skattebo are expected to play next season. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-york-giants/giants-news-malik-nabers-finally-surgery-torn-acl">Nabers had his surgery for the ACL</a> on Tuesday.</p><p>Skattebo was officially <a href="https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1983290920390013383" rel="noopener">placed on IR</a> on Tuesday.</p><p>Tyrone Tracy Jr. will take over the starting running back duties. On the season, he has 45 carries for 159 yards and one touchdown. He is averaging 3.5 yards per carry with 10 catches for 68 yards. The Giants know they aren’t going to be able to replace his production via free agency. However, somebody has to catch the ball in New York.</p><p>Which is why the Giants <a href="https://x.com/MySportsUpdate/status/1983281084143153602" rel="noopener">worked out wide receiver</a> Diontae Johnson on Tuesday, via Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. There is no word on a potential deal between player and franchise. However, New York is at least interested in seeing what Johnson can bring to the table.</p><p>During the 2024 season, the receiver spent time with the Carolina Panthers, Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans. However, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/browns-news-diontae-johnson-comes-clean-about-decision-that-led-to-ravens-suspension">he didn’t stick with any franchise</a>. Johnson was a standout pass catcher during his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers though, which is at least piquing the Giants’ interest.</p><p>Over five years in Pittsburgh, the receiver caught 391 passes for 4,363 yards and 25 touchdowns. He was a Pro Bowler in 2021 after setting career-highs in receptions (107), yardage (1,161) and touchdowns (eight).</p><p>Of course, Johnson is now far removed from that season. And after his chaotic 2024 season, it’s fair to wonder how much he has left to offer. But with Nabers down, the Giants have had to rely on receivers like Wan’Dale Robinson and Theo Johnson.</p><p>Johnson, Diontae that is, won’t completely change the Giants wide receiver room. Him signing with the franchise would be a dart throw from New York, hoping to get any juice left out of the wide receiver. How he performs at Tuesday’s tryout, and how the Giants respond, will be extremely telling of where the team and player stand.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

The Giants now sit at 2-6 on the 2025 NFL season, and, to make matters worse, also lost standout rookie running back <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-york-giants/giants-news-which-eagles-staffer-visited-cam-skattebo-hospital-after-brutal-injury">Cam Skattebo due to injury</a> in that game.</p><p>Skattebo was not the first emerging Giants offensive star to go down with injury this year, as in an earlier game, wide recevier Malik Nabers tore his ACL.</p><p>On Tuesday, <a href="https://x.com/art_stapleton/status/1983264291315658779" rel="noopener">the latest update</a> was announced on Nabers’ recovery process.</p><p>“Giants WR Malik Nabers had his ACL surgery today. On the road to recovery,” reported Art Stapleton of USA Today on X, formerly Twitter.</p><p>Although some fans were curious as to why it took this long (well over a month) for Nabers to get the procedure, this was reportedly always a part of the plan for the talented young receiver, who had already established himself as the Giants’ number one offensive weapon prior to the injury.</p><h2><b>Strange times for the Giants</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Giants-1_bbe04c.jpg"><figcaption>Brad Penner-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>On the one hand, there is perhaps more for fans of the New York Giants to be excited about now than there has been in quite some time due to the emergence of some of their young players, including both Nabers and Skattebo once they return to the field, as well as rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, who has shown some flashes so far this year.</p><p>However, the Giants have also found some inexplicable ways to lose games this year, including choking a massive fourth quarter lead against the Broncos, as well as being crushed by turnovers in a recent loss to the New Orleans Saints.</p><p>These setbacks have generated calls from the fanbase to move on from head coach Brian Daboll as the team continues to flounder in the standings.</p><p>The Giants will look to pick up their third win of the season when they host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at 1:00 PM ET.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

He joined ClutchPoints in 2023.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">New York Giants</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>It’s been a <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-york-giants/giants-news-brian-daboll-compared-anger-inside-out-after-lashing-out-refs">rough couple of weeks for the New York Giants</a>, who first snatched defeat from the jaws of victory against the Denver Broncos and then lost an ugly game to the Philadelphia Eagles this week. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-york-giants/giants-news-giants-jaxson-dart-drops-embarrassing-truth-bomb-on-loss-to-eagles">Jaxson Dart has remained</a> the quarterback for New York despite an up and down tenure at best, and calls have been growing louder for the team to move on from head coach Brian Daboll amid their latest defeat.</p><p>Through it all, veteran quarterback Russell Wilson has remained the team’s backup, supporting his teammates and taking his benching as professionally as possible.</p><p>Recently, Wilson’s wife and pop star Ciara took to Instagram to <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DQUrFf9EdjD/?img_index=3" rel="noopener">share some photos</a> of the two, including a video of them dancing together.</p><p>One person who couldn’t believe what he was seeing is New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner, who took to the comment section to relay his thoughts.</p><p>“Russ be dancing ? i never knew my dawg had that side to him,” wrote Gardner, alongside a slew of laughing and fire emojis.</p><p>Overall, it was a good representation of Wilson keeping his head up despite the uncertainty surrounding the future of his NFL career.</p><h2><b>An interesting spot for Russell Wilson</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Giants-2.jpg"><figcaption>Kevin R. That certainly flies in the face of the team’s usual perception.</p><p>After the game, Brian Daboll commented on Skattebo’s injury, too, noting that the <a href="https://www.giants.com/news/postgame-quotes-coach-brian-daboll-qb-jaxson-dart-philadelphia-eagles-week-8" rel="noopener">entire team feels bad</a> about what happened to their offensive engine.</p><p>With 2024 fifth-round pick Tyrone Tracy Jr. now locked in as the Giants’ RB1 for the foreseeable future, it will be interesting to see if New York can figure out a way to keep their offense going and Jaxson Dart’s rookie season a resounding success down the stretch. It is a brutally physical sport that often leads to players being hurt. Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season was no exception. Savvy fantasy football managers understand the importance of following injury reports to make the most well-informed roster decisions each week.</p><p>So, I am tailoring this column through the lens of fantasy football. I will explore and detail injuries across the league and provide insight into the fantasy ramifications.</p><p>So, let’s get to it.</p><h2><b>Giants RB Cam Skattebo</b></h2><p>We will begin with what is the worst injury of the week: New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo’s ankle.</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-york-giants/giants-news-cam-skattebo-nasty-injury-teammates-distraught">Skattebo suffered a devastating ankle dislocation</a> during Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. It is one of those most people don’t want to see. If you are a basketball fan, think of Gordon Hayward’s debut with the Boston Celtics a few years ago.</p><p>Yeah, it was that ugly.</p><p>The rookie out of Arizona State is obviously done for the year. It is a massive blow to the Giants’ offense, and fantasy managers whose teams were propelled by Skattebo.</p><p>Week 1 starter Tyrone Tracy Jr. immediately becomes a must-add when waivers run this week. He very likely had been dropped in your league already. Going forward, you can project Tracy Jr. as a weekly flex play. But don’t get it twisted, he will not produce like Skattebo had been.</p><h2><b>Eagles RB Saquon Barkley</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Eagles-RB-Saquon-Barkley-vs-Giants.jpg"><figcaption>© Bill Streicher-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>In that same game, Eagles’ All-Pro tailback <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/eagles-news-saquon-barkley-limps-off-blue-tent-apparent-injury-giants">Saquon Barkley also left early with an injury</a>.</p><p>The reigning Offensive Players of the Year suffered a groin injury vs. the Giants and did not return to the game. However, Eagles’ head coach Nick Sirianni said on Monday that it was nothing serious. He alluded to the fact that if the game had been closer, Barkley could have returned.</p><p>With Philly’s bye week coming up, he should be a full-go in Week 10. Fire him up as usual, although his season has not gone as planned.</p><h2><b>Browns tailback Quinshon Judkins</b></h2><p>It was a week of running back injuries, because we have another one on the list.</p><p>In the Cleveland Browns’ 32-13 loss to the New England Patriots, starting running back Quinshon Judkins got nicked up. He left early with a shoulder injury, which was a cause for concern for fantasy football managers.</p><p>After all, since his NFL debut in Week 2, he has been a rock-solid RB2 with three RB1 weekly finishes.</p><p>Thankfully for Browns fans and fantasy managers, you can breathe a sigh of relief. Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski said on Monday that <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/browns-news-quinshon-judkins-day-to-day-shoulder-injury-patriots-game">Judkins is day-to-day</a>. Similar to Barkley, Judkins will have an extra week to rest up and heal. The Browns are off in Week 9 and will face the lowly New York Jets coming out of the bye.</p><h2><b>Broncos WR Marvin Mims Jr.</b></h2><p>The first wide receiver on our list is Denver Broncos wideout Marvin Mims Jr.</p><p>The speedy receiver got knocked into next Sunday along the sidelines late in Denver’s win over the Dallas Cowboys. <a href="https://www.si.com/nfl/broncos/onsi/news/broncos-marvin-mims-concussion-protocol-huge-cowboys-win" rel="noopener">He is in the concussion protocol</a>. Despite facing a juicy matchup in Week 8, Mims disappointed with zero catches on one target. He ran the ball three times for 18 yards and was valuable in the return game. But that isn’t helping almost anyone in the fantasy football world.</p><p>He can safely be dropped, especially with a daunting matchup against the Houston Texans on tap (assuming he clears the concussion protocol).</p><h2><b>Bears WR Luther Burden III</b></h2><p>The Chicago Bears took a tough loss on Sunday, losing 30-16 at Baltimore against the Ravens. That wasn’t the only L sustained, though.</p><p>Wide receiver Luther Burden III suffered a concussion and was ruled out. Granted, only those in 16-team leagues are likely playing the rookie wideout. But if he does not clear the protocols for Week 9, both DJ Moore and Rome Adunze get a little bump in a plus matchup.</p><p>The Bears will face the Cincinnati Bengals, who just allowed Justin Fields to look like a Pro Bowler. Adunze can be counted on as a solid WR,2 with Moore offering flex value with upside.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

He was immediately carted off the field with an air cast <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-york-giants/giants-news-cam-skattebo-nasty-injury-teammates-distraught">and taken to a local hospital</a>.</p><p>Skattebo had been one of the brightest spots in an otherwise inconsistent Giants offense. Entering Week 8, he led all NFL rookies in scrimmage yards and touchdowns. Through eight games, the 23-year-old carried the ball 101 times for 410 yards and five rushing touchdowns. As a dual-threat back, he also recorded 24 receptions for 207 yards and two receiving touchdowns, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-york-giants/giants-news-watch-cam-skattebo-school-eagles-sick-td">including an 18-yard catch that tied the score 7–7 early in Sunday’s game</a>.</p><p>Dart, who has taken over as the team’s starter from Russell Wilson, was visibly shaken on the Fox broadcast. Cameras captured Dart screaming in disbelief, taking a knee, and watching helplessly as his teammate was assisted off the field.</p><p>After the game, Dart took to Instagram <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/10/26/sports/jaxson-dart-posts-heartfelt-message-to-cam-skattebo-after-injury-in-giants-loss/" rel="noopener">to post a heartfelt message</a> to Skattebo:</p><p>“[heartbroken] my brother Mann,” Dart wrote in the post. “Got your back no matter what dawg! GODS PLAN.”</p><p>He also addressed the injury in a press conference, stating:</p><p>“I was devastated,” Dart said. “That’s my boy. Seeing him go down and reacting to what happened, it sucks. It’s the worst part of this game.”</p><p>New York’s defeat was made heavier by a historically poor defensive effort. Former Giant Saquon Barkley rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries, while Tank Bigsby added 104 yards on nine attempts. In total, New York allowed 277 rushing yards, the first time the team conceded two 100-yard rushers in a single game this season.</p><p>Jalen Hurts exploited the Giants’ weakened secondary, completing 20 passes and throwing four touchdowns, despite being sacked four times. The defense was missing Paulson Adebo, Chauncey Golston, Jevon Holland, and Cor’Dale Flott due to injuries.</p><p>Meanwhile, Dart finished 14 of 24 for 193 yards with a passing touchdown and added a rushing score, his fourth of the season. Wide receiver Darius Slayton, returning from a hamstring injury, connected with Dart for several key gains, though a deep 68-yard touchdown was nullified by a penalty.</p><p>In Skattebo’s place, Tyrone Tracy Jr. assumed lead back duties, rushing 10 times for 39 yards. While he possesses prior experience, surpassing 1,000 all-purpose yards in 2024, his physical style and dual-threat capabilities are unlikely to fully replicate Skattebo’s impact.</p><p>The Giants, now 2-6, return home to take on the 5–3 San Francisco 49ers, who also experienced a Sunday loss to the Houston Texans.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
